Por lo menos el español no es tan difícil Es cierto que la conjugación de verbos y el género complican un poco el aprendizaje, pero no pasa nada si alguien no nativo dice “el mesa” Se lo ayuda para que lo diga bien y ya está Comment from : @facundoaguilera3641 |

Funny how relative this is As a Dutch native speaker I would put English, German, Norwegian and Swedish on category 1, and Danish and the romance languages on category 2 Studying Spanish to a C1 level was so hard because of the verbs, many tenses and the dreaded subjunctive mood and I still can't roll the r completelybrbrI'm learning German now and it's like a walk in the park Yes, it has long words but so has Dutch and they are usually similar The verb's come at the end, just like Dutch and the conjugations are similar Half the verbs and nouns are similar, a few identical Any Dutch person grows up hearing at least a bit German so pronunciation is not a big hurdle Yes it has cases but if you make a mistake people will still get you unlike the verbs of Spanish Also, Dutch has remnants of the possessive case in certain phrases so in German it sounds super familiar Nouns have like 9 types of plural, like woman/women or mouse/mice, which is just a lot of work but not a difficult conceptbrbrOn the other hand I once met two Chinese girls who both had a similar level in English and Spanish They told me that to them both languages were equally hard Comment from : @jasperoosthoek |

I'm learning Interlingua, category 0 😂, I'm enjoying the swift progress so I'm actually spending a few hours every day acquiring it, something I just wouldn't do before and it's based on romance languages so there will be a smooth transition I tip my hat to people starting with Arabic or Chinese as their first language God help you all lol Comment from : @Nick-w5m1v |

As a native Arabic speaker and a university teacher of Arabic speakers, I believe that for non-native speakers to master it, serious study for a period of no less than ten years is required Comment from : @HassenDjebbar-tn3xx |

بصفتي ناطقا بالعربية أصلا ومدرسا للناطقين بها بالجامعة أعتقد أن إتقانها من الناطقين بغيرها يتطلب الدراسة الجادة لمدة لا تقل عن عشر سنوات Comment from : @HassenDjebbar-tn3xx |

Hi,brAs already mentioned in some comments, this table is actually one-sidedly aimed at English speakersbrThere is little doubt about category 5, mainly Asian languages, although I do not understand why Korean, with a logical and phonetic alphabet, is mentioned here while Thai as a (5) tone language with a complicated alphabet is not mentioned, at least not in this videobrbrThe placement of Indonesian in category 3 is also questionable for people with a Dutch-speaking background (the Netherlands, Flanders and South Africa) Indonesian has a phonetic alphabet, simple conjugations and tenses, many Dutch loan words and so onbrbrOK, there will always be some discussion after all, it is about languages blah blah blah ;-))brbrGreetings & all the best for 2025 Comment from : @brudo5056 |

Been a bit over a year learning Finnish and I’m not even B1 Sitting around A23 Not easy The 16 grammatical cases aside, the vocabulary is probably the most difficult thing The only saving grace is the alphabet being Latin letters This is also the first language I’ve decided to learn outside of English Comment from : @CP4884 |

It's funny how I learnt to speak in a trashy way a level 4 language at four years old and I still fuck up the language I mean I'm terrible in french too But it's an oxymoron I'm better at English than italian (my native language) and fucking Russian (my mom's native language) I even learnt it in school I honestly blame my granddad for not correcting me enough when I was a kid Gosh I made up so many words it's not even funny I did notice though I had a way easier time speaking the last time around a childhood friend of my mom came over The first one spoke a mixture of Ukrainian and Russian And although there are similar sounds the cadence is totally different and most words are vastly different The other friend and her son were much more approachable and easier to speak to as they spoke a clean Russian I was told by both I'm a very nice person to hang around with, so I guess I also spoke clearly Although my grammar could use some polishing I'd say if I was stuck in the bear zone (we have bears in italy too but I mean bthat/b bear zone) people wouldn't pretend to not understand like the french Also funnily enough my brother speaks really bad in Russian, and he happens to look like mom if she was Mediterranean for some reason He was asked something by a girl on a flight to or from Bulgaria in Russian and he was so confused as to how she immediately clocked him as one of their own Bulgarian is more similar to Russian as in if you speak to them in Russian they understand you for the most part But it's funny to think of him as Russian when he looks like the most average white European dude I guess I have the same effect as I look nothing italian yet I'm native italian and speak some nice ass Russian Comment from : @nikitatavernitilitvynova |
