@doreenspiteri3557
Pity that the first three example sentences are so random Some context, some relevance, some connection to a realistic situation would have made it more meaningful

@curtai14
Hi! I teach in Spain Your explications are really good and I can see that you can teach confidently While I agree with your points, CCQ and eliciting is very difficult for me as a lot of the students simply do not pay attention and are very unmotivated For example I could explain present perfect and seconds later, they are making mistakes on the specific point I have explained Is there are way to turn this around?
Comment from : @curtai14

@garyfrancis6193
Like most Americans, you know F all about English grammar and shouldn’t be teaching it until you have learned it yourself
Comment from : @garyfrancis6193

@garyfrancis6193
12:00 In the Second Conditional you verbs are in Past Subjunctive nit Simple Past
Comment from : @garyfrancis6193

@garyfrancis6193
11:23 Your first sentence is incorrect
Comment from : @garyfrancis6193

@garyfrancis6193
3:53 In your third sentence you have made a gross grammatical error
Comment from : @garyfrancis6193

@garyfrancis6193
It takes you one minute and 50 secs to get to your point As well like most Americans you have already made a grammatical error in speaking I have been teaching grammar longer than you have been alive
Comment from : @garyfrancis6193

@thescumbagofnewyork9397
I remember watching this during my first TEFL teaching job- coming off an online certificate (and with no teaching experience beforehand), I had NO idea what I was doing in the classroom, and these videos helped immensely Meeting you a little later in Prague itself was a real treat

@sergiocardoso9554
These videos are great refreshers for me, I used to do all of that all the time, but recently my techniques have started to rot out by my routine, and this is helping me get them back, especially because I produce my own material to my students, and sometimes I forget to use some of these spices

The problem is I do not know how to start Could you give me some recommendations please? Thank you
Comment from : @joaoandre7488

@joaoandre7488
Hi Chris When we are teaching grammar to beginners should we use Present perfect and conditionals? I am bit confused Thank you for your lesson very educational and helpful
Comment from : @joaoandre7488

@NotOnlyCarrots
Chris, I'm guessing grammar is a fair way down the track especially if you're teaching a class of brand new beginners I have the option of having a translator with me for my lessons Do you think this would be an advantage or a disadvantage?
Comment from : @NotOnlyCarrots

@dollycaswell
Wow, I am a native English speaker, 78 years old, and I do not know all of the parts of sentence I remember when I was in grade school how I had trouble with past participles and past this and that I wish this were something that I could use to teach conversational English to some girls in Panama however, if it’s difficult for me, it’ll be impossible for them I’m sure you know what you’re talking about, but it’s above me
Comment from : @dollycaswell

@UmaU-pg1mx
why would the students know that the second conditional is used to express hypothetical situations when it is their first time taking it?!! even the word hypothetical would be difficult for them to guess, I don't think they would even know it They'll probably only guess the word imaginary tho
