Back when I was in 6th form in around 1990, I was working in a local Tesco and someone came in and bought a can of pop and some chocolate with a commemorative £2 I tried to explain at the time that although we could legally take it, they might want to hold on to it for the future It was, if memory serves, the 1986 Commonwealth Games one, so if it's only worth about £3 or so now, it's probably not so important!
