That is so true, Daniel People are so adamant about cleaning coins, put what they refuse to or dont realize is that the large grading houses "clean" coins and they still repeat like a parrot "You'll not suppose to clean coins" Noooo, you not suppose to wire brush clean, or sand paper clean, or tumble them in a rock tumbler, I hear it all the time, add all Im doing is removing the dirt, grime, PVC, and more, while leaving the patina intact and I still get lip, people must love their dirt LOL, Thanks Daniel for a great video Comment from : @vintageavenuerarecoins |
If a coin already has PVC on it, why should it matter if it's mint state or not? Won't PVC continue to damage a coin if left on? Thanks for the great video and explanation I appreciate it! Comment from : @rosewoodsteel6656 |

I've used that same jewelry cleaner in the red jar on my silver coins and it worked great I also used it on some foreign coins of uncertain materials and it did a good job on those too The silver coins I clean are typically common dates that aren't worth much so I like to make them look pretty I would never clean a valuable coin unless it was absolutely necessary Comment from : @chrisa515 |

Daniel, I do a lot of metal detecting and so many of the coins I dig have been in the ground for hundreds of years Most soil is not kind to coins, and most coins (silver) I dig are not rare To me, the silver dimes, quarters, half dollars, and even silver dollars (I've dug 5 silver dollars) are ugly, well are tarnished and what they call, junk silver So, what harm is there, if I put them in a tumbler for an hour or so, and bring them back to reasonable-looking, cleaned coins?brThank you in advance for your opinion Comment from : @harrysurtees8710 |

I know you said this is really for coins that would grade MS, but what about coins that are maybe a G-VG or F-VF? I have a few coins that I'd like to get the PVC off of, and I try to clean off all my junk silver with acetone before adding it to the pile Would you still recommend this for lower grade inexpensive coins that you're just trying to keep from getting worse, or from infecting the rest of the stack? Comment from : @germanguppy92 |
Really wish you had shown us what the coin looked like before / After so we could see the PVC on the coin Did I miss that? Comment from : @txspyrate4446 |
