My gringo friend I'm going to throw a 6th one also and I'm willing to dabete it with anyonebrThe academic curriculum in PRIVATE schools in DR is better than public school in the USbrI say this for a multitude of reasons, but 2 main examples from personal experience are: I went to a decent school in DR (not bilingual, I learned that outside of school) and when I got to the states to start my junior year of HS I already had enough credits to graduate and the only reason I had to even go to HS was because I needed to meet state requirements for 2 years of US English as well as 2 years of US historybrMore recent in 2022 when we moved to DR again Our oldest daugther, which is an A and B student here in the US, was taking the evaluation test to get accepted into some schools in DR she was horribly behind in math compared to the levels in the Dominican We had to get her a full time tutor for a while year just to catch her up a bit Comment from : @nelly112nels |
Lmfao 5:36 our kids don't have time to think of foolish things Comment from : @candyluna2929 |

I live in the US and I use to do medical work back in the 90s and ,I am not lying Inknow a lot if Dominican patien that could not sign or write there Name,at first I thought that they did not understand until a staff member point out to me that was the problem Comment from : @Brahanassei |
I am from the Caribbean and the Dominican Republic schools are not better than the US I have been keeping records of Caribbean education and the Dominican Republic literacy rate was about the same as Haiti until about 2012 in a single year the DR start to publish numbers saying that the DR literacy rate is 90 that not possible from 65 to 90 in a single year those numbers are incorrect Comment from : @Brahanassei |

I feel like you can talk about lgbtq rights to kids without pushing it on kids Comment from : @rachel154 |
I don't think there is an agenda, and I don't think there is a curriculum of teaching kids that they are Trans or gay, they are taught to be considerate to other kids, they aren't asking any parent let us transform your child Victor into Victoria, that is a false choice Comment from : @AugustoLugo1983 |
this is wonderful!! Love your videos and your advice Now I need something like this for Las Terrenas Comment from : @YeseniaCV3 |
This video has amazing value! As someone who grew up going to private schools in the DR & the US (public school system) I can say my experience in the DR was far superior than that of the school system in the US I found myself learning things in the US Public school system in 12th grade that I had already learned in 8th grade Not only that but the politicizing of the schools is practically unheard of in the DR which I am extremely grateful for as it sheltered my childhood from all the political nonsense I grew up in Jarabacoa, and went to a school called Doulos Discovery School which truly changed my life! In there I found a safe place to be myself and to grow not only as a student but as a person and leader! If you’re looking for a school in the Jarabacoa region, Doulos Discovery School is well recommended! Comment from : @darwingespinal6444 |
They don't even teach them English like that in the Dominican Republic and these kids spend like 3-4 hours in school no way the schools are better than the US I stand on that ! Comment from : @milestonemusicgroup5335 |
I’m sorry but as a country becomes more westernized and modern, expect these types of educational values to be brought into school Don’t expect your family values to be priority over societal values Dominican Republic is not an individualistic country We are a people supporting people I don’t want my children to pray every morning because that’s not my family value But I will respect the social construct of a nation so long as it’s not harming my children There’s already lobbying pushing to change these archaic values because it is not representative of the country Yes it will take time but I’m for it Ofcourse that’s my opinion as a more affluent Dominican but I’m here for it Comment from : @altastorm |

I went to private school in Santiago I was taught philosophy and psychology in high school None of that is taught in the US But that alone gave me a higher level of maturity (reading Kant, Aristotel and Schopenhauer will build you up in a heartbeat)😂 Comment from : @alexarjona1692 |

Hi Love your videos Is there a private school or place in Punto Cana that serves kids with learning disabilities Comment from : @esddgp0 |
My best memories of my childhood is when my family would go back to the motherland (Monte Cristi) from NYC! As a kid we rode donkeys and chased by other donkeys My cousins would climb the trees to get mangos and even cooked spaghetti with plátanos with fire made with leña and carbon! Best was swimming in the canales or playing and getting wet when it rained I am saddened my kids didn’t grow up doing the same but we go back home every year!!! Can’t wait to retire out there in Punta Cana! 🙏🏼🤞🏼♥️🇩🇴 Comment from : @mercedesminaya6755 |

Hi Jamie, i went to an all boy catholic school in DR called Instituto Politecnico Loyola and when i came to the US even tho I couldn’t speak English well, the other students were surprised that i would always the highest grades in our Math class The trick was i already knew all of it I had already learned what they were teaching in 8th in the Bronx, in the 6th grade in DR My school was a public school but it was a model school build by the dictator Rafael L Trujillo Comment from : @Letstalkaboutit809 |

So that the video title isn't seen as "fake", I think it's necessary to specify that it's about private schools, which the vast majority of citizens have no chance of enrolling their children in Comment from : @tonygomez4085 |

Thank you very much for information Jamie Very helpful You should consider doing same for other parts of country like Santo Domingo & Santiago This is a very important topic to many considering the move with 4200 views in less than 24 hrs Comment from : @flopezulises |
I appreciate how you share your perspective and values For example, how you acknowledge that your are referencing private schools and those with some degree of money that can make this move As a middle school social worker, i am a bit torn about your perspective about space for LGBTQUIA plus community I am not a fan of this agenda being shoved down kids throats but i also want to know that schools are inclusive spaces Thanks for sharing your insights Much appreciated! Comment from : @KatiePotocnikMedina |
