I've used CAD for 35 years and solid modeling for over 20 Stop beating your head against the wall Bite the bullet, get SolidWorks and never look back If your going to be a professional, use professional tools Comment from : @wagillott |

Blender is easier to use than Fusion 360 If you knew the right shortcuts you could have fixed the model you showed in a few keystrokes There are also different workflows for 3D printingbrThere are a lot of hotkeys to learn, and you can add a bunch more with Add-Ons, but it's by far the best modeling software out there and doesn't try to charge you for itbrI tried Plasticity when Ponte Ryuuri started talking about it, but it's kind of a joke I wouldn't bother using it for anything more detailed than a paperweight Comment from : @JustPlainRob |
I'm very surprised there are people who don't know SOLIDWORKS exist Comment from : @majdiawwad6981 |
Thank you for now I know about Plasticity program Comment from : @romanstarinsky |
No cad… Tal vez para 3dprinter esté bien, pero para CNC y circuito de PCB pues no Fusión 360 tiene esas cualidades y por un mismo precio 3programas escenciales Comment from : @tepan4d |
Every option has it's pros and cons For me, Onshape has more pros than cons It's not a one size fits all decision Everyone will have their preferences Comment from : @jamiemacdonald436 |

Bifold back doors and beagle brbrHi there, I’ve got a Beagle and some bifold back doors he wants to go outside 40 times a day and I struggle to get up and down to open the door for him so normally leave it open but as it’s getting really cold I was wondering if there is a way of building somethingto do it automatically thank you Comment from : @johnanom7510 |
Blender is not a mechanical parts designing program The stiff learning curve is the same as in every other 3d designing software that has the same purpose as blender You don't create a whatever shape without giving a damn about its digital visual form, like in programs like fusion, solidworks etc Comment from : @stelioshz |
Don't use anything that keeps your files hostage in the cloud, that means bye Autodesk Comment from : @bzuidgeest |
I started designing for my own prints for my model train hobby I started with Shapr3D and it worked well and was great on my M4 iPad except for the export, for two files, I just put multiple objects in the same file I switched to Fusion360 personal since I don’t sell my designs Fusion360 has been great I took sometime to learn but I’m getting the hang of it I don’t have any performance issues on my M4 Max Macbook Pro, its extremely snappy and fluid Comment from : @smptactical259 |
I love how all these YouTubers act like they know these programs and use footage from others videos Like it’s there own modeling Comment from : @SacredHeart0520 |

I know this video is kinda old by now for this comment, but have you tried clearing cache? I'd be interested to know if this would speed it back up or if it would be more laggy than desired still Comment from : @none1705 |
The reason I like Shap3r is mainly due to it working on devices such as ipads or tablets for on the go designing Helps in the garage or when out and about Otherwise, Fusion and plasticity is my go-to Comment from : @sketchyunicornslab |
Ignore the haters I recognized those cinematic elements you were incorporating Nice work! Comment from : @jordangreer2494 |

If you are struggling with Fusion performance, it means you aren't using the correct workflow And I don't blame ANYONE for not knowing what is the actual correct and best workflow for complex things It is absolutely arcane in it's obscurity; and it is extremely difficult to explain But once you understand how it works - and if you work with AutoCAD you already know how it works, even if you don't think that you do To put it simply: Do not treat Fusion as if it is a solid modeler - it isn't Fusion works in totally different manner and it is entirely based on edges Planes/Faces and solid volumes are defined FROM the edges, and you need to model with this considereation in mind Fusion is extremely powerful because it is actually the same as AutoCAD which is an industry standard regardless of what CAD-suite you or your company uses - it literally runs the same Kernel However you need to work with it totally differently compared to other CAD-suites And when I started to use Fusion, it was a massive adjustment The way I used to work no longer applied But once I learned how Fusion actually works, I been able to leverage it to do things with ease which were very difficult in other suites Comment from : @4Gehe2 |
Tried OnShape? I use Fusion myself but did briefly try Onshape and it looked good Comment from : @DJAguitars |
Wow ! Another dude making a video for internet points If you don’t know 3D , there’s no software that will help you with your limited knowledge Comment from : @arostaky |

Good move, these guy got their software tied to the cloud so they can steal peoples work Comment from : @jarexxsuvexx8212 |
Autodesk is proud of there prices And will only go up Never down I have an older version and I own it And audodesk won't let me install it anymore They don't care how much you spend They want you to upgrade and pay more Comment from : @metalworksmachineshop |

Shapr3d is far superior IMHO Comment from : @deusprogrammer_thekingofspace |
3rd problem with fusion 360 is that as of next year some time it will only run on Windows11 Comment from : @Fotovliegtuig |
Thank KevBot for this PRACTICAL & HONEST video I love it when your mention the disadvantage of Plasticity; it's NOT Parametric However, I'm forced to stay away for Fusion 360 due to its price Comment from : @mauriciolee7349 |
For people that get overwhelmed in Blender UI, I use Rhino 3D It's so natural and fast for me, it's disgusting The downside is Win/Mac only Command prompt, custom toolbox layout, Grasshopper RAD tool for building generators and whatnot Literally, everything fast for prototyping Accurate measurement, stl output Comment from : @零云-u7e |
Honestly I am shocked that Autodesk allows any profit whatsoever before charging you I wouldn't bet on them lowering the price or expanding the threshold Comment from : @3Hose |
Autodesk screws up everything they touch I plan to never invest in one of their products Comment from : @rozberry8867 |
If you a professional $85/month is insanely cheap for a software with the capabilities of fusion 360 Autodesk could 10x the price and would still pay given the value it creates Comment from : @ikbo |
Ashlar Vellum Software, these have been my favorite apps for many years Not perfect but quick, simple, and powerful Comment from : @minton4 |
Spoiler alert your full of 💩 Comment from : @plusoem |
Personally I started with blender and vertex modeling just seems so much more intuitive than skech based softwares I have now got a student license of fusion (I'm 13 so still have a while to find the best software) I'm trying to learn fusion but I just don't get it 😅 Comment from : @KeplarDesign |
ok dont go back Comment from : @ehabmohamed-qj8jw |
i think fusion does not need to lower the price since it is used by company but instead take the annual revenue max that force you to buy that and increase it so you need to actually make enought money to pay for fusion and live with the money you make so when that threshold arrive you can easly pay the fee because you have enougth money Comment from : @paganuccihouse836 |
Informative video Comment from : @thiagarajann7105 |
fusion performance also is killing me also the timeline features often suck Comment from : @DaveDRC |

Short version: He chose Plasticity Comment from : @DirtZen |
"Never going back" changes to using Plasticity "for the foreseeable future" Well, that's not quite the same Let's start with the fact that there's no need to tell Fusion 360 that you are making any money so you don't need to worry about that caveat Comment from : @brynmrsh |
I found Alibre to be a good parametric CAD alternative Comment from : @Stuntman707 |
Comment from : @FlameForgedSoul |
Onshape is a pretty good one but it's limited Most of my experience is with solid works as a tool designer and it's basically a watered down version Comment from : @jeremylunning654 |
Onshape is like fusion but doesnt need a good pc because its cluod based Comment from : @HarelGaming1 |

This is virtually fully commercial and only in around 6min mark it's revealed that software is Plasticity, which isn't good at all for any parametric cad user Waste of time Comment from : @jothain |
Fusion can get bent It's ridiculous Comment from : @ansilatoms |

Due to the kind of things I design I'll be keeping Fusion as my go to When things undergo rapid unscheduled disassembly I want to be able to open that file and edit that area Comment from : @codypaniwozik6056 |
