I was starting to feel i did not like the process of drawing, and that i only liked the drawings themselvesbrBut this video has made me see that copying things can make me like drawing in the long runbrI guess drawing other things that are not necessarily drawings of others, like and object, a scene from a videogame, a landscape, a person, or a random photo from internet, is just as valid in the sense of starting to like drawing brBut with the consequence that you simply will not "learn" any style

I suck at copying art lol but also I rush it and I'm a beginner so it's not wonder lol 😂🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ It's better to take your time and do you're art in sessions also thank you for the advice I feel like it's so much better than typical advice because it keeps you in the game for the long run and it's much more enjoyable

as a beginner artist, the advice of copying is really helpful, but another tip is working for me is to draw on a smaller piece of paperbrwhen i draw in a bigger paper i tend to get overwhelmed cuz i like to fill every blank space, so drawing on smaller space feels better for now, but when i get better i plan to move to bigger pages

Actually a good advice When I want to start formally with all the art fundamentals and stuff, I get stressed out and just quit it for a while, too much information to handle as a beginner; but when I start just doodling drawings that I saved in my gallery, it's fun to do!brbrMaybe one day I'll do all my effort to learn the basics, but this will do it meanwhile

Thanks man, now that im not wrong on my instincts on copying one's art, not just you want to be like them, but you want to explore on how to find your style that you can adapt Eventually, i slowly decreasing copying some drawings coz i have improved a lot on drawing my favorite fictional characters based on my own preference that i can understand

I agree with how you describe art style, because to me, art style is how an artists sees the world with their beauty sense and their logic, for example, especially in anime there are artists who draws eyebrows visible through hair, on the other there are that artists "disagree" with that concept of eyebrows visible through hair

Yes I would say, do "both", copy from reference (no tracing, no picking color, REDO the thing) and from time to time, do the boxes, do the spheres, do the "academic" stuff But find the balance that suits you if its 90/10 , its fine

That's how I learnt I never traced but I used to always copy other peoples drawings, or even just draw 3D renders of characters Now I can draw them straight from my head in my own style This is the best advice I've seen for art, because it is easy to understand, and it genuinely works

Something I like to do (not the only thing I do to practice) is I will practice a certain skill like I’ll spend time focusing on drawing hands or facial expressions and like you said I do also trace from time to time or I’ll use the photo as a reference and try to create my own drawing and see how well I can do 😮

So recently i've been trying to learn the Pizza Tower art style, which seems to be rather simple and messy, very easy for a beginner like me to grasp And, this video made me realize that It's basically what i'm doing I've been trying to replicate it, and i've been closely inspecting the in-game sprites to get a grasp on how to do it This video just opened my eyes to something i was doing subconciously Thank you!
