great vlog this time (well, most of the vlogs from you are fantastic), especially since I just got back a group of Morgan dollars I've had stored since the 80's I was very pleased with the grading out come and although I cannot say how long they were actually in the grading room, the batch took 8 weeks from my door-to-door I was impressed with the detail their imaging of each compared to my photography and the naked eye evaluation of each one Taught me a few things!!

I bought a gold coin from SD bullion a while back They sold it to me as a BU; when I received it, it was VF at best on the obverse It was the last time I bought from SD They blamed it on their supplier To me, one can have a general idea what grade a single coin is at first glance That first impression is usually pretty accurate

ETA Oh and yeah I remember the PCGS founders were bragging how fast they grade, they could accurately grade a Morgan dollar from across the room It's not a brag really, it's true Once we graded 100,000 coins in a row that's what automatically happens

Greetings,brDo you think PCGS & NGC have "special" graders for high end coins or registry set coins?? Do coins go through a process with grading companies before they hand out POP 1 coins or registry coins even for the older coins?brI mean they have to know that when they hand out that extremely "High grades" they are in some cases making decisions that will make a huge variance in price of the coin?? brBest Wishes

Takes 3-4 months to grade a coin, maybe 6-9 months if need be

That they do it so fast is why the psychology of what you submit and the order of the submission are so important When they see that cleaned coin in the first few coins, all other coins are now suspect, and you are not getting the benefit of the doubt

I hear you on first impressions I can't quite describe it, but there is a "look" that I like and when I see it, I want it Coins that I have to talk myself into liking, after I buy them, I'm often not satisfied and end up upgrading down the road

I work at CBCS comics as a grader and worked at CGC, NGC’s sister company With comics, It really depends on the book itself A Batman #1 from 1940 will take a lot longer than a Spawn #1 from 1992 With coins, I’m sure the same applies!

I used to find your arguments re: AI coin grading convincing, but as quickly as AI in general has been advancing recently, I have no doubt it will soon equal and surpass human graders providing someone develops a system for it Or maybe AI will develop the system itself

Excellent video lots to comment on, or maybe not, lol! 1 just a guess, everyone wants graders to go fast except when it comes to their own coins because don't we all want special attention so our Precious gets the highest grade possible!brbr2 for me, there's four grades I'll give a coin: 1st You'll never get graded 2nd I love you but that one contact mark drives me crazy so you'll never get graded 3rd are you a 65 or a 66, so you might get graded 4th I can't get you to PCGS fast enough! (have only ever had two in that last group and those got the 66s I expected!)brbr3 I have to rewatch to see if there's more I want to say because I lost my train of thought typing
