I know 5 languages (can speak 4 but understand 5)but im one of those people who spawned with a default language (arabic and english) brbrI was forced to learn french and german for school and can understand armenian (im ethincally from armenia and my parents speak it fluently) but i cant construct my own sentencesbrbrIm thinking of learning spanish or smth once i get better at german but for now im not a polyglot yet

I'm a language learner, right now learning 5 languages and planning my next ones Really specific story, but I am currently competing with a guy who I never talked to or never saw, I just kind of got into a race with him because I don't like him, but it has been very demotivating because despite learning cases, grammar and vocabulary very easily, but I have no one to talk to in my native language, so how the hell will I ever find someone to actually hold a conversation in russian with!? But this gave me motivation to do backflips and spin like a neutron star while memorizing german cases and vietnamese tones in the streets of my city It even made me cry tears of joy and ы over my keyboard Thank you, master of language learning and polyglot gigachad of the four physical forces that keep the world and its languages together

About 7 years ago, I wanted to learn French and found somebody to speak it with online on TandembrbrFast forward to now, she doesn't speak German, I don't speak French, we always converse(d) in English because both of us are lazybrWe are great friends now, she comes to visit me every year but I still don't speak any more French than I did 7 years ago

we had to learn french and english in school (i'm Swiss) and i wanted to learn mandarin because the characters looked so interesting to me so i went to shanghai for a while (when i was young ;P) and it was so much fun to get to know people also, i really had a very proud moment when we went to sicily and i could small talk in italian a little bit with a very nice older lady in a shop :D never stop learning!
