Some people like a heavy camera bc you can glide with it less jerky but also cant hold it for longbrbrTo me heavy camera is good for smooth movement and light camera is the no brainer for trying to be still and for talking videos Long form

I have a little panasonic HCW580 that i still have to this day I love everything about it still EXCEPTno mic jack which really keeps me from using it so maybe Ill have to see if I can grab a 981 on the used market

There is a cooking channel that recommended the Sony ZV-E10 II DLSR plus at least 4 lenses for different purposes I'm thinking, why? if you can just use a camcorder and zoom whatever you want? I was even thinking that I could buy two economical camcorders for 2-camera shooting and wouldn't have to worry about mis-matched settings Am I missing something??

I'm a mirrorless camera video shooter and I was thinking of getting a camcorder Have been looking at different videos about camcorders (I started using camcorder back in the mid 90s until 2010) After watching video after video I decided to stick with my mirrorless cameras The reason I wanted a camcorder for really only for the zoom ability SoI bought a 45-200mm zoom lens for one of my Panasonic g9s and the quality I get from that little cheap lens is incredible Better than what most camcorders can deliver

Funny you mention the Sony CX-405 I own a couple of things My biggest complaint with them is when I go out and record a band with it, it tends to overdrive the audio and distorts On the flipside of that I have a canon SX 150 camera that is from 2012, and the audio on it is phenomenal in fact it was better than my iPhone, and way better than the Sony camera which I'm actually kind of surprised about Any tips for getting better audio from the Sony at higher db applications? Only saw one option in there and I changed it but I haven't had the opportunity to try it yet I didn't see a level control Thanks Your videos are very informative

I wish more people would use camcorders I used a cheap hand held gimbal camera (similiar to DJI Osmo Pocket) for a vacationin Septembe 2023 It had so poor performance that I got a additional point and shoot canon camera that I was intending to use as my video recorder The problem was the canon camera batter life wasn't great After researching, I picked up the Sony CX405 (now discontinued) for a couple of trips this year The CX405 isn't particular sturdy but it held up over two long trips while my canon camera acted as a backup for certain use cases brbrThe problem is the camcorder market is pretty dry now Most of the camcorders are on the high end of the range (mostly for pros)

Got a general question for you: I have a DJI Pocket 3, which you so accurately described as a "wide angle lens on a stick," because that's exactly what it is! Even so, I am BLOWN away by the video quality on this puppy! Is there any hand-held/handicam-type camcorder that has video quality that can match the Pocket 3? I got the CX405 because of you, and I love it The quality isn’t the best, but it’s a fun camera to play with and super affordable for a student like me Hoping to upgrade to the VX981 someday You really got me into this niche! Now I love using compact camcorders I hope they make one with 4K 60fps and 10bit soon, since the tech exists on some phones and compact cameras like the Osmo Pocket 3 Wonder why it's not a thing yet

i have a Sony Handycam HDR-CX330 now i was gunna get tha CX-405 but didn't like tha battery on it so my CX-330 is similar to a CX405 but with an option to use a better battery but i never stopped using a Camcorder lol
