I'm from Canada and I had German classes (level A1 and A2) as complementary course back when I was in college 10 years ago Our Teacher was a Canadian dude that spent most of his younger years living in Germany and started teaching German as a second language right when he decided to move back here He would only speak to us in German and be super expressive to make sure things were understood, the only time he didn't speak to us in German was when he was giving us instructions about exams and assignmentsbrbrMan, I had so much fun in those classes, it was a decade ago and I didn't keep studying the language much afterwards, discovering your channel makes me want to jump back into it

After studying German, I feel like one can express themselves far more eloquently and in more accurate detail in English than in German There are more words in the English language than there are in German For example, German uses the word Himmel for both sky and heaven but in English we have one word for sky and another word for heaven The German word for hospital is Krankenhaus which means sick-house but in English we say Hospital We don’t call a hospital “sick-house” The German word for ambulance is Krankwagon, which is sick-wagon but in English we say ambulance The word ‘sick wagon’ sounds so primitive and kind of silly In English we have the words, good, fine, alright, okay, but German has only one word, gut But anyway, I wish I were fluent in the German language The German language fascinates me and I love trying speak it I love the way German is written and how it sounds to my English speaking ears
