What I like to do before I buy anything non-essential is ask myself "If somebody handed me the item in one hand and the equivalent of the price in money in the other hand and I had to choose one of them - which one would I pick?" Since I've started saving money I nearly always would have preferred someone gift me the money instead of the item Looking at both a purchase AND a non-purchase as a gift from me to myself has helped me immensely!

please note:: in the coffee calculation you only calculate the mashine but not coffeebeans, milk and sugar you need to add those in order to make both: takeaway and the home made coffee comparable so you need to add another 200-350 dollar (200 no milk no sugar, 350 with oat milk and sugar) to the 500 also add all the cost for cleaning your mashine, the accessories It would still cost less than a half of the take away coffee but far more than 500 dollar I'd estimate 750-850 on average

People need to rethink cars nowadays buy a older car that lasts if you look at statistics which you could look online or you can look on YouTube and there’s mechanics that will talk about good cars that last for example I don’t usually tend to need a new transmission or don’t have to have a full motor overhaul or new engine put in like a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix for example you look at people that talk about these there’s a whole list of cars out there that you can get And just buy it older car get it basic and pay down your credit card debt don’t have payments Don’t get a expensive car You don’t have to go to a dealership because that’s a really bad idea Going to a dealership yes putting money down but it’s also one of the most expensive things you can do is buy a brand new car that’s unnecessary my husband 50 years old and he drives a 2001 and just fine, getting a new car is not the best
