Mesluv888br1 Money Market Certificate at 470 and  1 CD at 775 that my parents got for me in { “1989 & 1991” ITF } from Comerica Bank  i’ve been trying to get them cashed in starting 5/13/19 the bank has been playing games with me I sent a complaint to CFPB Consumer Financial Protection Bureau  2/24/20 Company's ResponsebrDear Mr  Love, Comerica Bank has received the complaint that you submitted to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau I have reviewed your complaint and determined that you are concerned about two Certificates of Deposit that were in the name of Mrs_i____/i or Mr_i_____/i ITF Mr Love I have reviewed your complaint and determined that we do not have any records of the two Certificates of Deposit from the 1990's If the Certificates were "rolled over" a new receipt would have been issued after each maturity Also, Lillian Love or Thurman Love may have closed them As you have been informed, we do have a record retention period for records and this matter is well beyond that retention period for decades, as we have no records for the two Certificates of Deposit, It is my opinion that these were closed decades ago by one of the two authorized parties Further, please understand that when the certificates matured, a renewal notice for the interest earned and the principal would have been mailed as part of the renewal process, to the address on file at that time The interest earned would have had to be reported on tax returns Please provide me a copy of all of the tax returns for the time period 1991 and 1992 and beyond, which would show that the interest was reported (and validates that the two certificates were still opened) Once you provide the information to me, I will be happy to review it Lastly, as all banks moved to electronic records, paper receipts were no longer issued Thus, the two certificates of deposits would have been displayed on a statement which would have been mailed to the owners (in addition to a renewal notice) Based on my review of this matter, it is my opinion that these two certificates of deposit were closed decades ago Thank you for the opportunity to review and respond to your concerns Please provide me with the documentation that I have requested from you and I will be happy to review it upon receipt Thank you also for the opportunity to review and respond to your concerns Please contact me directly if you have any questions regarding my response Sincerely,  Comerica Incorporated, Senior Vice President br2/27/20  I went down to the IRS to get time period 1991 and 1992 and beyond interest earned would have had to be reported on tax returns The IRS told me that there Tax’s  records don’t  don’t go back that far???
