Haven’t done any research before commenting this so bare with me it might be incorrect but i think this is also why we as gen Z often suffer from feeling lost and “ don’t know what to do with our lives “ right ? I’m not saying that only our generation suffers from this but from what I noticed our generation makes the majority of the proportion that suffer from it since it’s rare to see someone in this generation who doesn’t consider the phone as an essential part of life !brWe’re overstimulating our brains with this digital life we chose to live and now we’re just so distracted, scared to be different , copies of each other and creative work and ideas aren’t as popular as the “ just for fun “ stuff ! La bailarina es un intento de ser un desastre Su interpretación carece de emoción profundidad y afinación, pareciera que estuviera en la escena en modo "piloto" Luis Miguel transmite con su mirada y lenguaje facial la esencia de la canción perfectamente La bailarina tendría que empañarse en la canción y darle más "sentido" a la par de la letra Amo la canción transmite más con la mirada de él Comment from : @TheJohnam |

First thing first the brain is not designed to know that it wants to go after distraction The brain figures out what the behaviors are occurring and it just repeats them if you are not consciously aware so its okay to say over stimulated but to say that it craves distraction is actual ignorance and why i say that because the brain only repeats the previous behavior unless you consciously provide over ride stimulation behaviors that will over take the previous behavior that has been executed with the body that is connected to the brain Comment from : @Amir-m9e5b |

1:20 Trying 30 mins of phone per day for a monthbr1:52 It took about a week to adjust downward into a lower level of stimulationbr2:00 bHis attention span grew,/b had more ideas and plansbr3:31 bThe more our brains are overstimulated, the more we crave distraction/bbr4:48 We not only crave distraction, but our mind rewards us for seeking out and finding distraction in the first placebr5:23 bBoredom: Restlessness feeling that we experience when we go from being in a state of high stimulation into a state of low stimulation/bbr7:41 bWhen his attention span expanded, he was able to focus more effortlessly even though he wasn't surrounded by fewer distractions His mind was so much less stimulated that it did not seek distractions in the first place/bbr8:29 Scatterfocus: If you think back to when your best, most brilliant ideas strike you, you're rarely focused on something bDistracted: When you focus on something that should not be your focus/bbr9:17 When we just let our attention rest, we think about the past 12 of the time, the present 28 of the time, and the future 48 of the timebr10:52 Do whatever that lets your mind wander, something that doesn't consume your full attentionbr12:29 Reduce things that require our attention We need more space What allows traffic to move forward isn't how fast cars are moving, it's how much space exists between the carsbr13:29 Distraction is a symptom of overstimulation Focus on reducing overstimulation instead of reducing distractionbr15:06 If there's one thing that he found to be true: The state of our attention is what determines the state of our lives Comment from : @imambungo |

This was absolutely fascinating! I knew that the internet was a huge factor of distractions, but didn't know how much more attentive you would become by disconnecting The steps he mentions are logical and simple, but very hard for us modern folks to do! Comment from : @aGr3atD4y |

Focus is like getting a camera, looking at something, zooming in on it, and make it clear (instead of blurry)brbrOr getting a magnifying glass and zooming in on a specific word as you read the entire sentence Comment from : @devantejeffries3810 |
I couldn’t focus long enough to hear what he had to say Comment from : @zappulla4092 |
This talk has a lot of fluff Even at 175x speed, I kept skipping 10 seconds ahead When you are preaching on focus, shouldn't your talk be more succinctly presented? Talks like these is the reason that TED has fallen off the wagon Comment from : @tunameltfridae |
Watching this makes me think I enjoy being overstimulated Because while I'm working I need there to be a movie on that I know all the words to and I need the fan on in the bath and now that all these things are running in the background I can fully tune in to watch I need to focus on It's not boredom transitions, it's my process into flow Getting into flow takes high stimulation If you think of your process of getting into flow as distractions we are lost Some can get consumed into zombie mode but the stimulations ignites imagination to the point I can't hear any other noise but my thoughts Comment from : @UCACares |
- Not all wander r lost Smt we do need boredom to relax our mind, thats when we have ideas, like Issac Newton didnt found earth attraction when he was busy doing a test, watching a romcom So i nid to reduce my screen time, saturday will be the cut off day for me, i will go out, have fun, read book and meditation!!!!!!!!!!!!! We do need more space in our mind, just chill out Comment from : @vlogcungsucolaki |
That fact that I am watching this during my work hours is ironic Comment from : @achmed6679 |
