I'm curious to know why some hobby/job/interest seems to be so gender specific?brSince Trump officially said: "no more trans people, only male and female exist as God intent", he might ask ambiguous people to fly an RC If you don't like it or crash it more than 3 times; you are a female I know what you will say: it's not fair for asian men Comment from : @alexandrevaliquette3883 |

8:41 im self taught and i have only majorly crashed 5 times in the span of almost five years So it works for me at least I bet there are many others who can do it as well Comment from : @Zane-u1u |

I'm definitely learning the dumb way, but I find I retain everything when I learn the hard waybrYesterday I crashed 3 planes nothing serious 2 scratch builds, and 1 edf (xfly t7 64mm) brYesterday's lessons brShort planes have extra sensitive elevator brHaving a nose pointing down on takeoff creates a down force making takeoff impossible or enough speed to overcome the down forcebrLast lesson was to put the t7 back on the shelf for a bitbrIt was a blast, it actually flew pretty well at slower speeds, but everything is faster and also requires more foresight in maneuvers The jets unharmed Comment from : @mattdufrane2821 |

I remember the club I used to be a member at Seemed like every time I would go out to fly there was always needed "field maintenance work" that needed done, or "they are practicing for Pylon racing", can't fly now Funny thing is they took my money, but never really helped me much when I was learning to fly What a bunch of "you know what's" Comment from : @jeffreyjones6409 |
Had to self learn, no official fields within hours of me Now ive had to teach my son, he has done fantastic from the start Comment from : @brandonbrown3600 |
400mm foamies taught me to fly When I got onto a 1500mm Tasman trainer it was easy by comparison as it was more docile in the air Passed my 'A' test (UK) within 4 weeks, and I was probably ready before that So, another route Comment from : @Calvertfilm |

Waiting for your video on how to teach your dog to fly, I'm struggling with teaching mine Comment from : @ericnadeau4767 |

Much of what y'all are saying in this vid is what I tell my boxing students As a semi self taught rc "pilot", I love the info y'all put out I've found that watching my flight vids, especially the on-board runcam, has helped quite a bit We just need to be honest with ourselves If the crash was our fault, find out why and how to do better Can't be blaming everything on manufacturers or weather lol Another great vid, y'all 👊🏿💪🏿💪🏿 Comment from : @BullyBreedRC |
Timely advice for all the newbies coming to the field this season! I'm largely self-taught as the instructors at my field were only interested in seeing how well I could fly a circuit I routinely fly with much more advanced pilots and model my moves based on what they do Comment from : @userTJ39780 |
Self taught here I tried way back in late 1980s and failed Came back 25 years later and finally got it Very expensive way to learn Comment from : @jacksampson7711 |
Whats the name of the sim at 1:09 it dosent seem like aerofly physics but the grapihcs are great so its not realflight Comment from : @digfun1507 |
Glad you hit on it, but learning to fly on a trainer and not a war bird needs to be HIGHLY emphasized! Comment from : @RichardAFPV |
Mach Jesus landing speeds are why thrust reversing was invented! /s brbrTip on belly landing EDF's with large cheater holes in the underside: go easy on the thrust reverse or the plane will try to launch itself again Comment from : @boardnski156 |
I normally recommend a turbine f16 to the noobs Comment from : @aidenkahn4338 |
I learned how to fly with a GWS P51 Mustang It was a wild first flight I was able to fly it and land it I knew the basics of how they flew and got lucky I guess RIP GWS I used to love those little foamy kits They were like 29 dollars for the slope soarer version but you had to add all the electronics But if you destroyed the airframe it was a cheap replacement and easy build Comment from : @FarmerFpv |
It's time to teach Bailey how to fly! Comment from : @markknutson8728 |
Even the most unstable aerobatic airplane should fly strait and lever for a couple seconds “hands off” if trimmed correctly, a properly trimmed trainer should ideally fly on forever if the trim and balance is correct Comment from : @Jon_Flys_RC |
Taught myself to fly RC helicopters (Hirobo Shuttle) in the backyard at age 12 (1990) when everyone tried to discourage me saying 'they're too hard' or tell me 'you have to fly planes first'br I spent a lot of time as a kid reading about how helicopters & planes worked which gave me the foundationsbrIt can be done 🇦🇺 Comment from : @Johnno47 |
Plateau Comment from : @kenkingsflyingmachines2382 |
I’m learning to fly by myself, also on Monday I get to go to a flight school (full size planes) Comment from : @ethanplaysroblox6253 |
The tight budget and thought of loosing a plane , never helps you learn You have to take in ur mind that what went up will surely come down, sometimes in peices Be ready for thatbrFear of crashing never makes good pilots Comment from : @mrmanojrs |
the kid wearing a mask outside… saddens me Comment from : @JohnnyJiuJitsu |
Tried to learn to fly RC fixed wing, would constantly lose track of my aircraft's attitude and crash Now I just fly FPV quads and have way more fun The part about every input with fixed wing being small really got me, because flying FPV the opposite is true 🤣 Comment from : @parallax_aerial_photography |
I am a self taught rc pilot who started building planes at age 8 and flew them around, always messing up a connection to the esc 6 years later, it’s still no difference 😅 Comment from : @HongDIYrc |
Have you ever tried the OMP bighorn Some say it’s a great bush and 3d plane Comment from : @ZapTeam |
The best way to learn to fly is by practicing on garbage planes people sell for dirt cheap on FB marketplace That way you also learn how to repair them at the same time Comment from : @infiniterats3870 |

self-taught here people would ask how long it took me to "figure it out" 5 planes-mainly i did learn to repair stuff though get an instructor and a sim Comment from : @joecserna |
As a guy who learned flying FPV quadcopters by purely self-teaching (and crashing, and making mistakes) i found this video so over-the-top But: When i tried out fixed wing RC aircraft i had my neighbour as a trainer to just show me the most basic things (trimming and CG especially) to start with Rest was self-teching again tho, because foam can be glued And now as i am learning to fly real aircraft i can totally sign every single point you mentioned Comment from : @AltmuehlDrone |
Sim, flite test easy plane Success and swappable Comment from : @everythingrc5652 |
About the self leveling, rather than get an electronic one, get a plane that has a high dihedral and naturally tends back to level Comment from : @Juniperrrrrr |
My friends and I are self-taught but we started with 400mm trainers and moved up wingspan little by little and now we all have a big collection of different types and skill levels but most of all we fly to have fun even if we destroy a plane from time to time 😂 Comment from : @coyoteman8073 |
You forgot about how Kingtech turbines sell perfect motors for beginner aircraft… right? 🤣🤣 Comment from : @CollinGaudette |
I'm self-taught on an amazon f-16 I still can't fly that well Comment from : @AnonymousRedCat |
Here’s how I started a year and a half ago I bought a used NX6 Spektrum transmitter for $200 I bought Real Flight Evolution for $99 And I bought a used Maule M7 for my banger for $150 So all in all A little over $400 and I was pretty set Now I can pretty much fly anything, didn’t waste a ton of money and learned to fly without a LOT of disappointment I’ve rebuilt the Maule 3 times Great idea to have a banger Comment from : @JN24185 |
Dude one of your best videos❤ Comment from : @costastheodoropoulos7171 |
My first time flying I had it in my bones so I didn't crash Comment from : @lightningWW2 |
This could not have come at a better time for me lol Comment from : @wheelrunner25 |
If going the self taught route i suggest building the flite test FT Flyer Its really easy to build and flies really well Since its only 1 sheet of foam board its super cheap Being cheap and easy makes easier to relax while flying and its no big deal if you wreck it Comment from : @onebladeprop |
Well said ! Except for the "one" instructor only part The student should be exposed to many different instructors so they may see a different point of view It's up to the student to filter out the bad points of each instructor and adapt the good points Comment from : @4qr1vq4mx |
my plane is a bit like a flying brick and having short runways is not ideal so i use auto leveling on landings and hand launches almost everytime Comment from : @Johnd_224 |
I’m self taught I crashed 32 foamboard builds before I figure it out Comment from : @rodgersrcaviation2785 |
I went the autoditact way Constantly building new planes, go out and threw it, if it comes back in one peace, wohey i got a successfull flight Comment from : @DerMaje |
I learned to fly without an inscuctor I just watched a ton of tail heavy videos Comment from : @Squid_Wizard70 |

Who uses trainers True men start flying on aerobatic planes Comment from : @mtbeyker9404 |
I learned to fly without an instructor, but I did have advice on what plane would be right to learn with This is critical Start with a slow flying and very stable aircraft It should have some dihedral, some washout, and smallish control surfaces And again it should be slow so you have time to react to bad inputs in favor of good inputs Comment from : @larrylaitner3473 |
Thank you Comment from : @jeffsnayczuk8488 |
