She is brilliant and I absolutely love the point she made when she spoke about the only time we’re in the same room as the same age and maturity we’re at is public schooling What a great point and now I want to homeschool even more! Great podcast ❤ Comment from : @SMFreedom24 |

I Homeschool and I feel like it is going pretty badly Lol My kids are very annoying For example, everytime I mention to my daughter its time for Math, she instantly starts cryingthats just one thing Comment from : @Kathrynlove |

We began homeschooling during COVID and haven't looked back since Our daughter was at the local Catholic school and did well, but we realized how little she was actually doing when she was sent home for COVID We decided to try the next year at home and her brain was finally challenged and she did amazing! The next chapter is our 5 year old, who learns differently, but we are learning together! Comment from : @brittanytoddpharmd |
I am planning on home schooling and have been listening to a lot of podcasts on the topic This has been one of the most informative, helpful, practical and encouraging interviews I have listened to so far Comment from : @andiadams4943 |

I understand her perspective and I’m glad she found something that works for her, but I think 12 is way too late for writing and grammar When I learned to read and write, an entire world opened up to me that I got lost in, with books, writing stories, etc I credit those years, really starting around 4 on, with my intense interest in learning and academic achievement later on The earlier you start with that piece of it, the more your child can take in different perspectives, a wider vocabulary, exercise their creativity, etc, and that knowledge just builds and builds over the years If I homeschool I will start those age appropriate “play” lessons of reading and writing at 2-3, which is when I learned to read Comment from : @Jessicad9304 |
So glad to know that I'm not the only homeschool mom that would constantly (in my early years)feel like they weren't learning enough My poor little self, felt like I had to have public school at home! 🤦♀️ once I finally let that go and went more with the flowthings got so much better Totally 100 agree with the grammar later on for the children Too much, too soon just confuses them and they will forget anyway I would rather them learn it later and actually retain the information than just to check a box off Comment from : @mizzh1986 |
Lila, can you please share your homeschooling experience? Pro's/con's/ advice! Many blessings Your parents did an amazing job!! Comment from : @elizabethlangarica8467 |
There is so much to love about this interview! A really good mentor put “For the Children’s Sake” and Sarah’s book “Teaching from Rest” in my hands our first year of homeschooling Ten years (and a million homeschool books later), they are still my top two books for new homeschooling moms! Also thanks, Sarah, for the tip on ‘Nicole the Math Lady’! Needed that! Comment from : @BigBayouMama |

How can I find these homeschool groups? My first child "should" be starting school next year, but I am trying to convince my husband that is not the only option He is starting to open his mind to homeschooling, so wish me good luck! Lol Comment from : @jessl5024 |

This is so good! I’m heading into year 6 with my 4 kids ages 15,13,12 and 10 I’m always fighting the voices of, “not enough” and I know the devil is trying to break my spirit This is exactly the encouragement I needed ❤ Comment from : @TheRealTanyaJean |

Wow! Feeding the 5,000 analogy made it click Thank you soo much for this podcast I feel God nudging me to homeschool and it was super reassuring hearing that I don’t need to BE the best, I just need to DO my best and God will make that enough Comment from : @monicageller226 |
This is just a thought I wonder if it would be possible to find somebody who would be able to talk about homeschooling children with special needs… Say children with intellectual disabilities, autism, or blind children… Having to teach blind children Braille for example also, I wonder if there are disabled parents out there who do homeschool their children? Particularly if their children are able body? Thinking particularly about if there are any blind parents out the homeschooling I'm blind myself, but I don't know any I don't actually know many blind people generally But it's something I got thinking about as I listen to this podcast Because honestly, I wish that I had had this lady teaching me when I was at school I think I would have learnt a lot easier and a lot better, because of her approach, her compassion, and the fact that she is so big on actually being read aloud to Comment from : @milanka882 |
This is by far my favorite episode! Comment from : @salberthal88 |

Flexible times jobs Lesrn from Finland Comment from : @asyed1995 |

Thank you for this discussion I am a teacher and I dread getting new students who had previously been homeschooled Generally speaking, my previously homeschooled kids can't write They can't write a cohesive paragraph, nor even much of a sentence They usually read pretty well, but only things they are interested in reading Oh, and their penmanship is atrocious I'm sure it can be done well, and I had a student once who had been homeschooled and was way ahead of the other students in the class brMy prayer is that homeschooling and co-ops continue to improve and we can get as many kids as possible out of our country's dangerous public school system Comment from : @melissasw64 |

I've enjoyed hearing this perspective One note: schools 50 years ago definitely did start at age 5-6 and were not primarily oral and not at all like Little House on the Prairie 50 years ago was 1974 ❤ Comment from : @rnewland89 |

I needed this podcast so much right now We are in the middle of a cross-country move and homeschooling is definitely on the back burner for a solid 3 to 4 months I’m trying my best to do basic basic homeschooling but it’s pretty much a wash at this point until we get officially settled in Having a mother of six explain her journey reminded me to give myself grace and enjoy the day-to-day life lessons that are happening as part of more of a holistic, homeschooling journey rather than an academic formal homeschooling journey Comment from : @Imzadi |
What about if they are any only child? I want to home school my son if he can’t go to a Christian school He’s about to turn one I have a huge gap between my kids I feel bad though about him not getting the social aspect I still feel in my heart it would be best for him Comment from : @msezbreezy1 |

I reference Read Aloud Revival all the time! Some of our all time favorite books came from her lists (Hank the Cowdog, Green Ember, Poppy series etc) 😄 If all we do on a typical homeschool day is read our Bible and an amazing, living book…I consider that a win! Can’t wait to listen and glean more from your conversation with Sarah! Comment from : @kimberlymurray304 |
Sarah is great! brI was intimidated by homeschool for a long time Eventually I dove in, and I'm so glad we decided to do it, and in ways wish I had started sooner Comment from : @stefanielynn84 |

Thank you for this! I have been thinking of homeschooling for my kids, but recently I have been feeling very discouraged I have a 4 year old, 2 year old and new baby and have been so overwhelmed I have been questioning how I could ever also do homeschooling ! This episode gives me so much renewed hope that it all will be okay I also live in PA which is a heavily regulated state so hopefully she has a podcast episode on that - if not, would love if you had her back on to talk about how to approach homeschooling in states with lots of regulations Comment from : @lisabeck6264 |
Have Carol Joy Seid on!!! Comment from : @laurimuse1390 |

I thought I couldn't homeschool because of my own education I have bad memories of my public school years with and poor education I felt the CALL to homeschool and started in January 2019 I told God I didn't know what I was doing and he helped things work out I felt the hand of God in the work and it became a spiritual experience Trusting in God and stepping forward was all it took My oldest is now 11 years and I have a 5 year old and 8 year old all homeschooled My oldest was the most emotionally challenging She (after 3 hard years) has had a victorious break through and improvement in behavior and school work We are all proud of her life lesson she worked through We didn't give up on her ✝️ Thank you for this video Comment from : @melindahagelsieb3634 |

I've homeschooled my 2 older kids for 4 years I also run a legal business and have 2 toddlers We put the older two in a crossfit camp this month Running to drop them off and pick them off is crazy!! I couldn't imagine having kids in different schools and different programs and worrying about homework, teachers, waking early and packing lunches, etc 😅 people say we're nuts for homeschooling but honestly it's a lot calmer of a life than the alternative Comment from : @threearrows2248 |

I love Sarah Mackenzie I’m pregnant with my 5th (Catholic mama here), and I was fearful about homeschooling with another new baby, but when she speaks about homeschooling with twins it was so comforting and realizing that I can do it by the grace of God I have let go of the fear, and I am embracing this season ❤️ Comment from : @christink5264 |
Homeschooling seems so overwhelming to me and I don’t know why I would love to do it since it seems like the perfect life for a child but It’s hard for my son to just sit down and learn letters I don’t even know how I would teach him to read… i really wish I could do it I just don’t feel like I would be successful and that scares me Comment from : @Julisssx3 |
