My foster mom did this and verbally abused me and controlled every little aspect of my life I left and moved out without anyone noticing I was in college and had an apartment with her biological daughter watching over every little thing I did for her Had her take me to the store while my boyfriend put everything in his mom’s truck and moved in with him the same day

I approached the Domestic Violence Court 4 times to get interim relief from financial abuse without any success They said it has to be resolved by the divorce court The Domestic Violence Court doesn't protect the victims of financial abuse Period

I am in an emotional and mental abusive relationship that has escalated to financial abuse I was a stay at home mom and now disabled I have zero access to any finances, house is his parent’s , the cars are in his name I have to justify every dollar that I need I don’t know what is worse to accept and live with abuse, or leave with nothing My credit is low so very low and that is by design Starve me for money and I got cards with high interest and he doesn’t pay them I don’t have family or friends to go to I am severely isolated I need the health insurance that I have to keep the medical specialists that I have had for years In an act of desperation I asked his family for assistance which I DO NOT recommend I’m sure that you can guess how that went It is what caused the this new abuse I wish I could say that I haven’t thought about one sure fire way out, but what can I do

Depending on the card being used they will know immediately if you get cash back at a storeI used to think that wasn’t shown but my husband checks the app attached to whichever card I take to use to see when the transaction was made how much it was and it shows if I got cash back to unless it’s a bank debit card it will show if there was cash back attached to the transaction so be careful

I was married to a narcissistic man who abused me I stopped working early in the relationship to stay home and take care of the kids BIG MISTAKE! To get out of this situation, I seeked help from a domestic abuse center and they helped me with an exit plan, temporary housing, food assistance and job/education assistance God was and is with me all the way! I also read a really good book named, "I just want out" by Jodi Schuelke Thank you for covering this topic Your tips were excellent!!

Growing up it was very obvious this is what my mom went through Im lucky enough that i was able to see the signs and im in a relationship now that is quite the opposite But this really helps me understand what she went through and what my other family members are going through
