I really like the cryptic, hard to remember password trick! I accidentally did this with an investment account I try to ignore to avoid knee jerk reactions to short term changes in the market and it works beautifully Having to look up the password manually bat home/b often provides a cooling off period and allows logic to take hold

I’ve been lucky enough to be able to roommate with someone who is paying rent to someone in their family and isn’t paying much Before, I was spending half of my monthly earnings on rent alone The majority of the rest went towards car payment, insurance and utilities Making that sacrifice is allowing me to save 65 of my paycheck towards an eventual down payment on a house

We have no expenses Just insurnace on car n housing which is also lowest that can b available in the area Minimal shopping n grocery n eat out If anything expenses can only go higher on how low we r right now 0 debt too So increasing income is the only way to double anything Coz even of we spend 0 next ur with same income it won't b doubled 😂brRn savings is 43 n 80 of it is rent

Reductions in stuff like Starbucks is absolutely not the wrong thing to focus on The point is to look at controllable expenses and change habits around those items Because those are easy wins Nobody is making me go to Starbucks For about $150 a year Probably substantially less than this I can make a latte at home every day Or i can instead buy 2 months worth of lattes from Starbucks in your 3x This is a choice i get to make Negotiating is fine But ultimately I cannot control the outcome of that Its not that you shouldn't try Its that there's no guarantee it'll accomplish anything Deciding not to go to Starbucks anymore is an instant winbrbrBut personally I tend to avoid Negotiating Its not because i don't think i can do it I just absolutely despise the process Everyone is playing a game and i cannot stand the process So I only negotiate when it's something I intend to keep for a very long time and have no choice I avoid products and services that typically are negotiated as much as possible

Here in Canada it's a bit different A lot of the taxes we pay are already deducted from our paychecks One week I can have a $3000 gross paycheck and left with $1500 net I can save around 16 of my net annual salary For example, I make around $140k gross a year and I'm left with $85k net We pay a lot of taxes
