About that blending you guys did there at the end - my own experiments in blending have shown that some Scotch whiskys just do NOT play well together, and when you combine them there's a subtractive effect that leaves a glaring hole in the flavor profile of the resulting blend So yeah, professional blenders need to know what they're doing in order to avoid unpleasant results Comment from : @paulm749 |
|
4:26 caught me totally off guard 😂😂 Comment from : @thisiskjsworld |

Glen Allachie 2011 Speyside single cask is one you need to get your hands on Probably the most complex scotch I’ve ever tasted But at 632, it’s definitely one for the winter months…warms your soul The one I have was matured in an oloroso puncheon cask I regret that I have just one bottle Comment from : @thomasblevins1662 |

Laphroaig I bought several years (10ish) ago was terrible and undrinkable I will never waste money on them again, especially as about 4 years after I bought it scotch reviews called that year the worst chemical disaster known to man Also Dalmore king Alexander at $300 was absolutely not worth the money Maybe it was a $125 scotch There are other significantly better scotches Comment from : @franks4973 |

I really gotta disagree with he Laphroaig not having the essence of Laphroaig I love what age does to Laphroaig, all of the iodine, and pencil eraser, and ozone turns into wildflower honey, white flowers, and orchard fruit (apple/pear) It reminds me of what the 10 year from the 60-s and 70's tastes like brbrI'm also really surprised at the bucket list Not a single Brora, Springbank, Port Ellen, Rosebank, Littlemill, nothing from the heyday of Bowmore, no 70's ardbeg I'm stoked that y'all's bucket list is actually things that you can cross off (truly I am, since I probably won't get to most of mine) brbrI would say if I were to have a bucket list, or bucket list recommendation (since I've had two of these): br- Macallan 18 Gran Reserva 1982 (or the 1926 fine and rare, lmao) br- Ardbeg 1974 single cask (any of em) br- Black Bowmorebr- Springbank 12 year 100 proofbr- Springbank Local Barley Cask 443br- Rare Malts Brora 1972 22 year br- Balvanie Tun 1401 batch no3br- Lagavulin 37 Comment from : @elijahcherweznik3505 |
