About that blending you guys did there at the end - my own experiments in blending have shown that some Scotch whiskys just do NOT play well together, and when you combine them there's a subtractive effect that leaves a glaring hole in the flavor profile of the resulting blend So yeah, professional blenders need to know what they're doing in order to avoid unpleasant results

Glen Allachie 2011 Speyside single cask is one you need to get your hands on Probably the most complex scotch I’ve ever tasted But at 632, it’s definitely one for the winter months…warms your soul The one I have was matured in an oloroso puncheon cask I regret that I have just one bottle

Laphroaig I bought several years (10ish) ago was terrible and undrinkable I will never waste money on them again, especially as about 4 years after I bought it scotch reviews called that year the worst chemical disaster known to man Also Dalmore king Alexander at $300 was absolutely not worth the money Maybe it was a $125 scotch There are other significantly better scotches

All the Bunnabhian and Bruichladdich special little bottles they are killers of almost anything, deep rich all cask strength so much flavour it makes good whisky taste like water and anything with caramel taste like soco gag

I am holding a 2015 Ardbeg Supernova for my homecoming in 2025 I've acquired several of the Ardbeg special edition whiskeys, including the Dark Cove, and the Galileo, now alas consumed brbrI am quite fond of the Talisker Distiller's Edition, and have acquired every Lagavulin Distiller's Edition from 1994 on The 1995 Lagavulin Distiller's is one of which I've bought three bottles I'm holding for one of these, unopened for the aforementioned homecoming
