Hey Brandon Thanks for all of this information yet, while I don't speak for all travel agents, I wouldn't say everything conveyed here is 100 accurate It seemed as though you were not a fan of agents until the end! lol There are a lot of incentives of using a good travel agent I say "good" because we all know, like in any industry, there are those who provide great customer service and those who don't While we won't charge more, clients generally receive additional incentives, such as cruise credits or cabin upgrades for the same price booking on their own You may get $500 in ship credits to use however you like, or if the agent has enough buying power, upgrade to a nicer cabin at no additional cost On point 2, it's not that we don't allow clients to contact cruise lines or make changes with them, it's how the industry is set up Cruise lines want agents to serve as central points of contact for clients (it's also why the cruise lines pay agents commissions) They can better assist the client with changes, as good agents should understand their client's travel style and preferences We also monitor fares and this is an automated process If there is a change to the client's advantage, we honor that change--however, this also depends on the cruise line Incidents while traveling: If something happens - no travel agent can be 100 at their client's beck and call 24 hours a day--it's not humanly possible However, good agents should provide points of contact and references to clients in advance, in the event something does go wrong while traveling If something does go wrong, of course the client can call and we're able to handle it to the best of our ability We serve as client advocates so that the client doesn't have to do it themselves We able to do the heavy lifting for them and negotiate what we can Our firm also offers concierge service, to provide real-time global service for a fee And, you're correctwe don't judge! We're happy to work within a client's budget to help them craft their travel masterpiece!

Hi TA here that found your channel I see some others have already told you about monitoring fares but I was not sure if you knew that many consortiums now use a tool to monitor all price changes and also promotional changes with the bookings and the TA gets an email to notify us to advise our clients It’s great 😄

I monitor all my clients' bookings constantly for price drops, and get them changed brAnd if my clients have an urgent need I do drop everything to help them 7 days a week!!

I had a TA share a link with me and did NOTHING to help me whatsoever with my requests, questions and needs They ghosted me completely I guess they just wanted to get the nice percentage cut from my booking Thankfully I called them out and another TA stepped in, took over and fixed everything

That is not true that the cruise line will not let you do things I have a travel agent for all my Virgin Voyages cruises, and there’s no problem with me making changes adding things, etc

There are TA’s who do charge a planning fee Being a TA is a 24/7 lifestyle and most of us work 6 or 7 days a week and take only couple days off per year

My travel agent checks the prices, we got several notifications over the course of about 18 months on a large group booking Hasn't happened in a long time, prices don't seem to be dropping much these days, and Royal doesn't give you any credit for drops after final payment date
