The only problem I have had in Thailand over the last 4 weeks is with places that do not accept Debit Cards or want to charge you 3 on top thinking it is a credit card In tat case I just transfer money to my partners bank acct and she pays for it, depending on the time of day it is normally about a 1 minute transfer, sometimes a bit longer

I took your advice and opened up an account and transferred some money and just found out I can't get a physical or digital card for who knows how long (living is the US) and would have to transfer the money back to a regular debit card so this is all been a waste of time this is a scam!! there should be a living in the US disclaimer

I'm an Aussie living in the UK, I still have an Australian bank account but didn't want the risk of them sending me a card so use the WISE card as my debit card from that account when back in OZ

I am from Australia and travelling to Phuket If I want to withdraw money in Phuket from an ATM, do I need a physical Wise card, or can I use my phone with the digital Wise card linked? Before I withdraw the cash, do I just transfer money from my Credit card to my Wise account (AUD$ to THB$)? Im confused so you withdraw your montly limit and have to pay an atm fee, do you also have to the pay the atm fee of the country you are in ? Example, the philippines charges 250 pesos atm fee for foreign cards

Can you just have just the one currency on wise card and it auto converts to the local currency when you spend? For example, I have just AUD on wise but want to spend THB Does this auto convert or do I need to also hold THB to spend locally?

You can adjust your setting online with your bank (ING anyway) to advise you will be travelling overseas so they don't shut your card down But for my upcoming trip I actually have a WISE card as well, it's good because you can pre load it when currency rates are good and hold on to it

Perhaps you should mention that they are NOT issuing cards , virtual or otherwise to US It took seven business days for funds to be deposited in my Wise account from my bank account Lesson learned Hope you enjoyed the funds you earned from my mistake

On the wise app you can also create JARS, there you can store currencies and have them totally separate from your cards, or, have them linked to specific cards only, what i do is have the majority of the currency in a jar, and transfer over only the amount I'm about to use, another little safe guard against theft

We used the Wise card in the US recently and it was accepted in almost every case The only exceptions were when we tried to purchase petrol from 2 separate stations, the card wasn't accepted Otherwise, it was great

As I travel nearly full time I have set up an AP from my New Zealand bank to my Wise card every week I keep a balance of around $3-4000 on my Wisecard If I am running down my wisecard balance I just do a manual top up At first I transfer from my home NZ Dollar account to the currency of the country I was in and used from that I stopped doing that and just had each transaction in-the foreign currency be debited from my home currency It makes little difference and is easier

I use Wise verification on payment It works fantastic and is simple When I purchase online a message instantly on my phone on the App to approve ( I also have the app on my IPad and the verification appears on there as well and I can verify from either I have face verification to open the app and click the verification of the online transaction With Wisecard ion Apple Pay we have double click turned on I feel these help to keep us safer

I travel a lot and have settled on Wise Was using BankWest but now only my backup card Wise better rates and more convenient Qantas Cash Card the most expensive They lie and say no foreign currency fees Not true they have a massive hiden foreign currency conversion percentage fee Tried to get them prosecuted for deceptive conduct but Qantas is too powerful to bring down
