I picked one of these up during the last 15 off Ebay sale So I did a YT search on the coin and low and behold a retro sal video came up You've certainly came a long way in 5 years Comment from : @ASMRPeople |

I have just picked up an 83 and 84 from this series The outer packaging is the same as is the coa but the interior recess is bigger and the coin is in a capsule There were some earlier ones like yours without a capsule too Do you think they are worth much more than bullion? There are 7 more at the dealers and I am tempted but its a lot to lay out! Just read the comment below which answers my question I guess! Comment from : @spainstacker6402 |

I have the complete 22K set from 1977 to 1986 The later ones came in air-tites and so I put all the earlier ones in air-tites that I bought In 1987, they reduced the fineness to 14K and the gold content to 1/4 ounce, so I don't have those However, they started a $200 face series in 1990, with 22K fineness and a slightly greater gold content at 505 ounces and an increase in diameter from 27 mm to 29 mm All of them are available at a very small premium over spot Of course as gold kept getting higher, they dropped the gold content in 2004 to 471 tr oz by making the coins a bit thinner to 18 mm from 2 mm The most popular of this series is the Haida mask of 1997 A nice cheap alternative to the 22K AGE Comment from : @meteoman7958 |

can you find an air tite to fit? I would waste no time!brbrThanks for the show! Comment from : @gswovoka5432 |

Technically if a coin is struck as a proof it will always be a proof - it's just if it gets stained or something of the nature, it's an impaired proof Comment from : @PaperMoney |
|
Holy moly! That is one beautiful piece Comment from : @PaperMoney |

Beautiful gold coin !!! Just noticed that the coin it self didn't have the kt or amount of gold posted on the coin Is that usually the way they print them? Comment from : @philipyoung3030 |
|
Nice design I agree with you, they should have issued this coin in a capsule of some sort Thanks for sharing Comment from : @ThesharpNshiny |

Love seeing the older RCM proofs that I never knew about, and gold no less! Comment from : @SilverSiren |
|
Very nice coin salivate! Its funny how we all will forget about todays coins in 20 to 30 years but i am glad you showed us a piece from 1980! I could imagine all the coins that were damaged or melted within that time frame Great job my friend! Comment from : @BrianTheLog |
|
You should flip it, you could call it the most expensive coin toss on youtube Comment from : @VonHayes9 |
|
Oh and ya the RCM made many of these 22K coins, this one, Arctic Territorires had a mintage of 130K but my favorite is the 1985 22KT $100 National Parks Centenary ( 100 Years Of Canadas Parks ) mintage was 58,520 I will have to get that one out and show you
Cheers! Comment from : @Double66s |
