I'm hoping to learn piano The difficulty that I am facing is limited mobility and poor fine motor control in my right hand Specifically, I find it virtually impossible to move fingers 3-5 independently (or at least not without curling my pinky off the keyboard) As a result, I am simply unable to play chords with my right hand I have been attempting to practice scales etc to improve mobility, but progress has been glacially slow I would be grateful for any advice regarding exercises etc that might help Comment from : @kevinedw2002 |

Get a teacher That’s is all the tips you want Don’t waste another day learning by yourself Get a teacher and thank me later Comment from : @FingersKungfu |

I've really been enjoying piano this time around I've tried to self teach a few times over the past 3 years and this seems to be the time thats sticking? This is silly but, dark souls had taught me how to enjoy playing piano? Its a game that's all about one thing, learning a complex combat system and defeating the challenges (boss fights) in a way that works for you The best way I've found to enjoy these incredible difficult games? Break it down set your own goals and slowly focus on mastery, not on winning This approach is 100 how you should enjoy your piano practice Trying to rush through? Sloppily playing a peice over and over till yay I did it? Thats like summoning 4 phantoms (online players) to kill the boss for you No skill was gained no challenge overcome So I practice piano by carefully practicing using the Absolute Accuracy Rule AAR and practice at a challenging level till i can get the notes right 7 times in a row Its great Comment from : @babygorilla4233 |

Thank you for your 12 tips! I bought a Yamaha electric piano and paid for a subscription I became so frustrated trying to learn in a structured environment that I gave up after several months I'm back now and trying to create my own structure based on how I learn and listening to your 12 tips will help me visualize a visualized framework of how the pieces fit together and their importance Thanks again! |
I've been playing piano for 40 days nowbrbrI learned the notes from scratch, and my 1st classical piece ever is JS Bach Prelude in C Major, which I now memorised and play sort of continuously with 1-2 hiccups brbrwas it the right move / choice in your opinion?brbrwhich piece would you recommend as the 2nd one? I think I'd rather learn something moder for a change, I like rock music, but some pop / ballad would be ok too I guessbrbrI really enjoy your approach, and especially this video lays everything out as a real beginner, I truly appreciate your advice, so that I can make better decisions and make better use of the precious time Comment from : @TigerCarpenter |
This is the best piano channel by far! I watch and play to your videos everyday and it really helps my technique 👍😀brThanks for helping us out 🔥 Comment from : @Lina-le6up |

When you learn songs do you have to memorize? Comment from : @yudipitre5720 |
As always a great video I do wonder though if/when you (would) start some song lessons yourself? I get that your channel wants to give more basics and there are a ton of channels that dissect songs out there However, it would be helpful bbecause/b you are such a great teacher!brWhat would help next to song would be more rhythm stuff I don't find reading sheet music that difficult when it comes to the actual notes but the whole rhythm bit really throws me off Comment from : @dohlecarnett1866 |
Just signed up for SimplyPiano for three months Seems good so far Comment from : @maryduvall5474 |

So many helpful tips! Much appreciated and looking forward to more videos in the future! Thank you so much! 🎹🎼 Comment from : @ladyp5511 |
Most teachers would probably agree with everything you have said I found that starting off reading music provided a security blanket and clear focus My teachers all want me to come in for regular lessons which is a problem because I need time to study each piece and lots of practice in order to play it well Alfred All In One is a good compromise as it provides theory, method, and lots of music and allows progress at any rate which is comfortable for the student and helps with many of the skills in a way that a teacher would Anyway, I learned lots from book 1 and am now on book 2 review section Just my thoughts I took lessons as a young person and discontinued piano for 60 years before realizing that it is my instrument of choice Comment from : @midnight4109 |
Can I learn to play my keyboard without being able to read sheet music Comment from : @shivangjoshi4931 |
