I’m a fan of this channel, but he wants to hate TSLA so bad He used to have a very small position a while back in his growth portfolio, which he uses as a defense to not hating it But he also takes jabs at the company when he gets the chance Whatever reason for his negative bias restricts his ability to take an objective look at the company It wasn’t difficult to tell he hasn’t really looked into Tesla much given some of his responses to the comments in the last video he did on the company Not everyone needs to be a fan, but that doesn’t mean you need to be a detractor

Great insights as always brbrHave to disagree about the tiktok videos and what they say about the company It wouldn't surprise me if the companies want people to do this To me, as a software developer, I see the core hours shown to be working as 75 hours but an environment that wants you to be there longer and demonstrates a healthy work/life balance, and this is probably a good day and not the "norm" This makes me respect the company as they respect the workers They can't show the work they are doing due to security policies a software dev would know this and not expect it This has also been the case for the last 15 years or more It in no way influences people being laid off IMObrbrI've been through a large scale lay off myself 1000s made redundant back in 2018 in the UK I could be an outlier, but it was the best thing that happened to me

I think it's pretty clear why Google hired so many employees Didn't you cover Mohnish Pabrai saying that hiring a software engineer is the best investment that a company can make? The biggest issue is finding enough engineers I think Pichai was being truthful about the layoffs with the caveat that they weren't ACTUALLY expecting growth to continue that rapidly They would rather overhire and have to do layoffs than underhire and pick up the scraps leftover after Apple, Microsoft, Facebook, etc scooped up all the best talent This is playing out exactly how I expected it to

24:35 The layoffs are not random btw The reason some high performers and people who got recently promoted got laid off is because they're either too highly paid compared to their coworkers for the same role or their role is in areas the company is not viewing as critical at this time
