Earning money is important, but preserving your capital is even more crucial Once your funds are lost, rebuilding wealth becomes significantly harder It’s like “missing a train” versus “losing your money” while there will always be new opportunities, losing your capital could mean the end of the journey Comment from : @NoahNollens |

Retirees who struggle to meet their basic needs are the ones who could not accumulate enough money during their active years to meet their needs Retirement choices determines a lot of things, my parents both spent same number of years in the medical profession, my mom was investing through a financial advisor while my dad through the 401k On retirement, my mom retired with about $5million, while my dad retired with roughly $38million Comment from : @GeorgeDean-km3wm |

My original retirement plan was to retire at 70, work part-time, and save money However, high prices for everything have severely affected my plan I'm concerned if people who went through the 2008 financial crisis had an easier time than I am having now The stock market is worrying me as my income has decreased, and I fear I won't have enough savings for retirement since I can't contribute as much as before Comment from : @oliviaHill-w4e |

I planned on retire when I reach 62 & 1/2 and travel to capture world's beauty since photography is one of my hobbies Cancer happened at 61 & 1/2 Health changed from age 18 to 70 Going from exercises an hour and a half each morning the hopped on the bicycle to work to bed rested during Chemo was a real awakening This cancer episode actually changed my mind on retiring at 62 & 1/2 Even I can answer the six questions raised on this video without any hesitation I will move my retirement date to much later in the future Why? I like my job a lot Finding joy in daily living is the key to my delaying retirement time Life is no guarantee for anyone, especially for my higher risk lifestyle than most being a motorcyclist Even riding for over 50 years, there is no precaution or defense for accident I am enjoying every minute and doing everything I have doing for so many years Retirement will not deter me from enjoying fully by working, living happily with my family, enjoying my hobbies and work I live everyday as if it is my last day Comment from : @slowestrider4918 |

I retired because I can comfortably afford it At 70, I don't have goals, they were what got me here and are no longer needed I have missions One is to exercise daily but in an easy going way, a long, slow swim or a long, slow walk preferably with someone Other missions are spending time with old friends and family, as often as I can, and listening to their problems This cheers me up because I don't have any and I am not them Other missions are keeping old things running, my property, vehicles, myself Sometimes, I waste time by writing comments on youtube Every day I try to do nothing for an hour or so, another mission of mine I have to be careful about telling long stories about my glory days When I do, my wife's eyes glaze over or she suddenly gets an SMS message that she has to urgently respond to Comment from : @johnbarry4787 |

These questions are way to vague they don't make any sense The only true yes or no question is number 6 You didn't ask if the health insurance will get paid if you retire that can be very expensive in fact it's probably the number one reason people can't retire So until we come up with a good solution to that problem most people will have to wait until age 66 I am open to suggestions maybe make a video on that Comment from : @gregoryolson2079 |

Before you start investing, it's crucial to understand the basics of investing, different asset classes (stocks, bonds, real estate, etc), and the associated risks are you investing for retirement, buying a home, or building an emergency fund? Your goals will help shape your investment strategy Comment from : @Rogerederer-b2r |

My the decision to retirement retire was made based on compelling reasons to do so I was short on years of service and had not reached minimum age I was a government employee and the agency I worked for requested special exemption for age and length of service and I would also receive a $25K cash incentive to retir(called a Voluntary Separation Incentive Payment or VSIP) But I did have to receive a approval of a circuit judge on a civil matter of a case against me because a payout based on my income would significantly reduce liability on the matter The judge approved and I submitted my paperwork knowing I would have taken a hit on my retirement check By the way, I was 52 at the timebrbrIf I did not ask the judge for approval or he did not approve, I would have had to work for 15 more years to satisfy my liabilitybrbrIt was a sudden shock to retire so a abruptly would wake up in the morning, lookup at the ceiling and ask myself what day it is I did some traveling and relocated on the Gulf Coast and do not miss the DC area I was able to afford a down payment on a house as new house was dirt cheap and got a very low interest rate and there is a low cost of living here brOh, and the climate is nice and the beaches are beautifulbrbrSo one way to make the retirement affordable is to move to a low cost area and find a new home there I do understand that some retirees want to live near grandkids and moving away is not an option which makes retirement unaffordable Comment from : @FORTRAN4ever |

All my answers to your questions are yes But I have many health issues, so I need better insurance coverage If I buy individual insurance from the Marketplace, I can get subsidies if I don't work and have lower income, BUT those insurance programs usually don't cover good doctors and hospitals I wish I could have a solution, but this country just doesn't offer that solution for people like me Comment from : @lovefaith9173 |
