I went with a Kohler Propane Generator Kohler 30RCL 1800 RPM My dad had large diesel unit's for his business in semi trailers If I were running everyday like my dad did, diesel is the way to go For home backup its Propane or natural gas We put the unit in our house back in 2018 with a 1000 gallon underground tank We used it very little until last year when Ian hit We ran it 11 days 24hrs and only shut down every other day to check the oil and did one oil change Propane is much easier to store for years at a time Diesel fuel systems need very clean and no water in the fuel Very hard to do in humid Florida Also diesels don't like light loads for very long Wet stacking is a big issue Natural gas or Propane generators don't have wet stacking problems Comment from : @Dqalex |
