What if you never bought a single coin for your collection (beyond stacking junk silver), & you have a bunch of small ticket coins simply from saving pocket change for yrs? It must be worth selling a collection of $1-$20 pennies, dimes nickels quarters etc, at 5, 10, 20, 40¢ or a couple of dollars right? Bc they were found in change & no investment was made, any amount over face value seems like a win to me Small potatoes are better than no potatoes, but will TCS buy a bunch of coins like that in one go Or a couple of gos, I've got lots of few dollar coins & was planning on doing exactly that- selling them all for a small profit Comment from : @maxf7351 |
I agree regarding graded bullion coins It's bullion, not a big collectable market there & it's easy to score high grades when you have never been circulated Bullion is nice and stackable, although I still keep it in good condition 😂 Comment from : @maxf7351 |
Good video for the neophyte I could see how they might be confused over collecting vs stacking though eg You point out a few silver dollar commemoratives to avoid That's fine for collecting However, as a stacker I buy whatever the merchant picks off the shelf for as much as 20 under spot Comment from : @ytthieme |

I am from Europe I have been interested in numismatics and coin collecting for years, and I agree with what you said in the beginning Numismatics and coin collecting are not investments; they are a passion In my opinion, the coins I buy are not an investment I don’t want to make money on my coins; I want to have them in my collection, look at them, enjoy them, and learn about the history associated with them Comment from : @JacaKwiat |

12:30 Those "RARE" common date, circulated coins are all over eBay too, often with comically high asking pricesbrLike a 1981-D EF Lincoln Cent for $2,500 Same thing with error claims for coins that don't actually have errors, like the horrible "No Mint Mark" error, often asking ridiculously high pricesbrEvery time I see these I just HOPE nobody who has more money than sense buys them But, these scammers probably wouldn't keep doing it if they didn't get a sale once in a while Even once a year would make it worthwhile to them Comment from : @Vector_Ze |
Thanks for the heads up I am new to the coin world so I was glad to watch this and get some insight and info 👍 Comment from : @jeremysmith3522 |

I have been collecting coins since the 1990s and I see no point in collecting coins that can be found in my pocket changebrWhen I think of this I would rather buy unusual, (non-bullion) coins that, while they can't be used in a store, are still interesting br(like a show-stopper) Comment from : @ChristopherHudetz |

I've seen, considered, and passed on almost all of thesebrGot a couple plated Kennedys for a dollar ea that i didn't really wantbrMS70 bullion, I've seen as cheap as $42 I doubt you'd regret buying 10 for under $400 They're common, sure But so is inflationbrGotta disagree on common Barber quarters Biased, since i just got a unc 1912 mixed in with a bunch i paid spot price for But i can snipe a good raw aubu for 75-90 at auction, and sell it for 140 Just over 100 yrs old, it's not like they're going down But i wouldn't pay $200 for cert'd, and that might be what you mean Comment from : @taitheguy85 |
