I did something like this too I used my mom as my piggy bank I used to give her some of my pocket money and gift money which I received from my relatives and grandparents and she would put everything in a separate purse or a box labelled as "My name's savings" I saved thousands like that when I was 6 or 7 itself but one day I foolish lend it to my so called father as he didn't had enough money to buy gold "for me" but I never even got to see that "gold" From that day I got trust issues with lending people money except for my mom I won't even ask her back 🙂 Even my mom told me not to lend anyone money if you don't trust em like my father

Errr saving is nice, but investment is better since they are so young, you can capitalise on compounding interest just use an excel sheet and see how much $1000 base, with $20 added per month, at 5 pa interest rate, turns into, in 10 years

My kids don’t earn money for chores around the house as it is part of contributing to the family/home a a kid They can use that skill to be ready for the ‘teen yrs’ workforce…taking responsibility and actually earning a wage However they do earn money for As ($10) and Bs($5) but if anything lower…they are to pay back $10
