I heard that those who are 11X, the Ranger entry standards are hard set and not waiverable due to the high number of 11X available Other MOSs can have waivers depending how bad they need a MOS However, these MOSs might be harder to get in with as they are not as numerous

As a former Ranger and SF soldier, I can say this video is pretty accurate However, you need to hone up a couple of things For SF, 18 is not an MOS in itself 18 series includes the SF MOS's, such as 18Z, 18B, 18C, etc Most of the soldiers in a Ranger Regiment are infantry, or 11 series There are support MOS's who support the Ranger Battalions in many ways, but the number of those positions are not near as many as the 11 series/infantry positions Also, the Airborne Ranger Regiment community does not have much respect for those who go to Ranger School and are not Airborne qualified Ranger School is much easier and less risky for those who do not participate in jumps during Ranger School Yeah, you know who you are They are known as Leg Rangers, which to this day is hard for me to say without choking Having said that, I do respect anyone that makes it thru the course, evenahemleg rangers Also, it is good for the conventional army to have Ranger qualified NCO's in line units That is a very good thing

Word of advice people…don’t get your hopes up…i saw them drop a guy because they said he looked like a nerd The cadre can drop you because they just don’t like your faceyou need to be in the top 20 percent of the class in everything…hour 1 of rasp they made guys do flutter kicks till failure First 15 guys who feet touched were dropped immediately Same with ruckingthey’ll drop the last ten guys of a ruck even if you technically make time It’s not about being able to pass basic time standardsit’s about being aheadalsoif you make it to a line platoon i hope you like fighting and getting hazed They will make you fight other privates every day and smoke you all day every day until you get your tab and deployments Rasp is the easy part A lot of people quit or get kicked out after getting to regiment

A lot of people confuse Ranger School, as a "leadership course" It's not a school that will train you to be a leaderits a course that is there to TEST your Leadership capabilities

US Army veteran here 1980-1983 I was with the 11th ACR stationed in Fulda, West Germany It was a tough unit! The 75th Ranger Regiment is a very tough unit, but I gotta tell ya, the 10 Mountain Division is no slouch either! Just tough as nails units

1st Battalion Delat Co Parris Island 1997brWe had a couple of formers Army Rangers in my platoon during boot camp They didn't make it They were running their mouths from what I remember Saying that we were all weak and they are going to get the highest PFT scores because they were Rangers They couldn't pass the 3 mile run Their cardio was terrible They did like 8 pull-ups from what I remember or something like that Overall, they didn't impress any of us at all

So, just to be clear, RASP, and RANGER schools are 2 separate and different schools that teach similar, but different things based on your career direction? But all potential Ranger recruits for the 75th RGT have to go through RASP in order to become actual Rangers, but RANGER school is an option for later on?? Is that about right?
