Thank you very much I am looking at every guitar site I'm a senior starting out I like the acoustic sound the most little concerned with the pressure on the strings thats why I'm thinking eletric and I thought it might be me but looking I see thats a concern with a lot of people What about an acoustic electric? I know the strings would be easier as I want but with a semi hollow I maight get that acoustic sound Yes no? Thank you Comment from : @dcon1023 |

Hi KevinbrbrI have both as well and I tend to use my acoustic more as I love country music etc however, my electric is a PRS and it’s really nice and I need to use it more Can I play rhythm guitar as well on my electric just as I would play a song on my acoustic? Sometimes I try and it’s just harder I’m terrible at soloing and that style on either style But I love the sound of both Thanks!brbrRyan Comment from : @RLHumpert |

rather than electric vs acoustic i now think about it more in terms of playability (and tone) some guitars are like a warm knife through soft butter others are like a cold knife through hard butter my current favorite is a $169 electric s-style guitar (kramer focus vt 211s) i walked into guitar center yesterday and the very first display was a bunch of those kramers (but at $199) i got a PRS horsemeat overdrive pedal and i just leave that on all the time i love acoustic for all the reasons kevin mentioned but that kramer sure is easy to play and sounds great with the prs pedal be careful when buying acoustic - some have ridiculously high action a setup from an experienced tech (not just some guy who watched a youtube video on how to make $100/hour as a guitar tech) can make a big difference Comment from : @hartcons |

Nice video Thanks Do u prefer rosewood or mahogany for your tone woods, and why Comment from : @reneenazario9598 |

Both PRS SE24 Custom and PRS Angelus Alex Leifson Model Yes and a Martin will always sound gorgeous I like leaning down over the sound hole and hearing the music comes out Comment from : @groovymoon |

I love this video Great editing showing the comparisons of the two I enjoy it when Vicky adds comments and questions…makes the video seem natural and unrehearsed 😊 I recently started to finally learn to play my electric after watching a similar video of yours 👍 Comment from : @blueser100 |

Which is best to start with? Ask yourself what made you want to learn guitar in the first place? Metal, rock, country, folk? If metal for example, you will most likely not like learning on an acoustic and get bored My thought is to learn on what makes the sound that scratches your itch Comment from : @fretbuzzn5707 |

The answer is easy, start off with the guitar you like better I started learning about five years ago and I’m really into rock and metal, but I originally bought an acoustic which wasn’t enough to peak my interest and keep me picking up the guitar I went ahead and bought a cheap electric guitar and that’s when I really started learning and now I enjoy playing both, I actually like using the acoustic more when I’m practicing because it does make my finger stronger and as mentioned it’s so much easier to just pick up and play Comment from : @robertdysonn |

I really enjoy my electric guitar with all the bells and whistles my Boss gt1 gives meBut it just doesn't compare to the pleasure my old fg Yamaha gives me after a new set of stringsMany thanks for sharing your video Comment from : @markstacey2906 |

I started with electric Always wanted an acoustic but it bothers my shoulders (age and injuries Lol)brSo I decided to try an acoustasonic tele It has been great But still want a real acoustic brLong story short, friend has a Martin hd28v that he is willing to sell me I think I’m going to get it due to the story behind it and us brDeal is he has to teach me one of his songs… he can’t play anymore But figure I can play and he can sing his original with me Might not be able to practice for hours on it but I will play it as much as possible Comment from : @robsteffey606 |

Thanks for the scoop I started acoustic My brother started electric He plays better He took lessons for quite a while I grabbed music books and already knew how to read music but I tell him I have more fun He's real competitive Ive tinkered with electric but don't own electric guitar He says its easier to play I love the tones and sounds of acoustics much more than electrics If I buy electric one day it will probably be hollow body Still love your teaching bless you and your family Comment from : @jerrystilwell7666 |

I just subscribed to your channel I'm in my mid 60's and thought I would try this I'm not sure what model Martin you have, but it looks a lot like the old Martin DM that I have I know it will be frustrating, but I am going to try to stick it out The manner in which you teach is Outstanding I wish I lived near you Thank you for what you do Comment from : @ragtis |

I've been playing off and on for 60 years and can't disagree with anything you said It depends a lot in your taste in music brbrAs you kind of say and from my experience electrics are easier for young people because of the slightly lower action on smaller gauged strings It also seems a lot less expense to get a playable electric than an acoustic even with the cost of a small practice ampbr br It is a bit harder to play an electric well in that mistakes seem be amplified more than the correctly played music My occasional "fat fingering" of chords is a lot more evident I tend to play my electric in an acoustic mode By that I mean if I have an acoustic arrangement and an electric arrangement of a song I want to learn I tend to choose the acoustic version Clapton has a lot of these Just my tastebrbrBTW, I play mine a lot more often unplugged than plugged It was my father's and is a hollow body electric Kind of like the Gibson 335 but thin line body and completely hollow body Lots of feed back at high volume unfortunatelybrbr Might be different if I could leave mine set up plugged in but due to dogs and kids I have to leave mine in a case and the amp covered Comment from : @harveybc |
