Average Americans cannot save up to pay for even a used car in cash in a realistic amount of time Comment from : @Mopman33 |
This is exactly what we just did this month buying our new car We have also been putting aside a set amount every single week for the last five years to be able to purchase the card that we want My husband and I own our cars, normally for about 10 years so that fund will build back up and in five years I will buy my new car the exact same way Comment from : @HalfKort |

According to George, it is important to buy a used iphone before going to buy a car, since green bubbles cause cancer Comment from : @christianjoplin1956 |

We need laws to stop this scam because that’s they’re doing scamming us Comment from : @Nerdy_Aomeba |
Dealerships HATE IT when customers pay cash! They threaten sales people with being fired over it When I sold cars, and a person paid cash… there was hell to pay It’s why I quit! Comment from : @Adam-cl9xr |
Personally, I just do research and have an out the door price And if they can’t meet that in 45 minutes or less, I just leave It’s never failed me yet Comment from : @zachz699 |
I live in the northeast I have found better success in the FSBO market 3 times and having the car looked at by a trusted mechanic I did not have good experiences with a dealer Comment from : @anndipietro1868 |
Good reputableDealerships sell 200 cars a month, you buy a car every 5 years They’re going to be better BUT lose the attitude that they’re scamming you OR that they’re shady A reputable dealership wants you to come back next time you need a car, they want you to refer them to others Comment from : @kckcmctcrc |
I hate dealerships but I gotta say I had the best experience purchasing our first Tesla It was super easy and everything through the app All docs were there and transparent There weren’t any fees except registration and title I scheduled my delivery did my inspection and went on my way It was great Comment from : @angie3634 |
They can't SNEAK fees in on you They have to disclose all fees before you sign the paperwork Comment from : @JohnKJV3-16 |

Its so ridiculous that this is even legal The price ahould be fixed and translatent All fees and options and whatnot ahould be optional I would be ashamed if my business was built on ripping people off Comment from : @chiefnase2471 |

bCredit card/b NOT Debit Card Go home and pay the credit card immediately what you paid for the car from your bank account brbrNever use a DEBIT card, you could be held liable for any fraud against you and your money CREDIT card you are federally protected to only be liable for $50 brbrNEVER use your Debit card for anything other than withdrawing money from YOUR bank Use your credit card for EVERYTHING Pay what you spent to your credit card company immediately when you get home, never carry a balancebrbrIn the age of fraud and cyber-criminals one must adjust with the times Comment from : @Dansull123 |
Pay in Cash!!?? 😅😊 what the hell are you smoking Comment from : @davidbrooks8809 |
Overwhelmingly this is solid advice I’ve been in the car business for 28 years Taxes are mandatory, doc fees are mandatory, however concessions can and sometimes are made within the sales price of the vehicle to assist with that Also, depending on what you’re buying an extended warranty may not be a bad idea Cars as a whole aren’t built extremely great these days and failures of systems are more common place Comment from : @jamesbrown7521 |
Or pay for it with a credit card, get the rewards and pay it off right away Comment from : @turyvalles469 |
I always buy private Car dealers are nothing but a headache Waste of my time with those goons It's a relic of a bygone era Comment from : @SeraphsWitness |

I negotiated out the doc fee too That fee is their cost of doing business , not your problem Comment from : @philmeadows874 |
Doc fee??? Nope! Comment from : @bruced370 |
Some dealerships won't take the full amount through a debit card, so if it's a weekend and you can't get a cashier's check, you need to have cash Comment from : @brextenbenson1 |

I really dislike when you look slightly off camera to read scripts Comment from : @kotzoun |
It shouldn't be this hard to buy a car Why does everyone think its a badge of honor to 'get a good deal' We need to stop normalizing this Cars should just have a retail price and no fees It should be like buying an appliance This shit drives me crazy that you have to 'do research' to not get ripped off and everyone is ok with it Comment from : @briancollins2248 |
Forgot the most important step: make sure it’s a Toyota or Honda Comment from : @bcjammer00 |

Sneaking fees! These guys tried to add a LoJack fee What is this 1990?! 🤦🏻♀️ now I don’t want to work with them as much Comment from : @Melis-u722 |
I bought a new car for the first time ever in my life Got a great out the door deal that made me feel good But when I had to go “talk” to the finance person he fought so hard to get me to sign up for a warranty When I asked what the overall price of warranty was, he said $4k, but it’s just a few dollars extra a month I had to say NO, very clearly, at least 5-7 times They challenged it hard I wasn’t prepared for that but still stuck to my plan Comment from : @oneofmany33 |
Doc fee is for suckers I’ve never paid that and I never will Comment from : @Cletus-y8z |
Yeah it's a real shame that you have to fight with a salesperson to buy a car Comment from : @EvilTwinMorgan |

I would rather use my credit card, pay it off in full end of month and get flight miles 😜 Comment from : @BB13-13 |
I agree just very difficult to get that inspection because some pople dont allow it, you have to find a mechanic and cars get sold too quickly I think its v important though for such a large purchase Comment from : @geraldmurphy321 |
This just makes me even more thankful that my dad came with me when I bought my car! I was confused and overwhelmed and he was a huge help!! Comment from : @sarahfoutz |
A few things I've done that has helped me get some really reliable cars is 1) go to Carmax and sit in the cars to see how they feel The sales folks don't get commission so there isnt pressure from them 2) test drive cars from enterprise See how the vehicle works in everyday life events for the day since the dealer only lets you drive a couple miles 3) purge and sell a lot on marketplace for quick cash I use that money to help with the registration and tax costs Comment from : @SW1989SW |
Don't buy the warranties On anything I've bought enough cars without any warranties that I could buy another car by now with the cash I've saved Comment from : @rslover65 |
I’ve learned to not disclose I’m paying cash until it’s time to pony up Dealers will bait with some discounts believing they’ll make it up on the finance package Comment from : @surewhatever8843 |
Watch out for the "Adjusted market Value" feeits the commission for the salesperson being handed down to the customer Real scamy Comment from : @virginiabeech |
NEVER!!! buy from a dealership! Face to face, private only Comment from : @briand4000 |
This idiot got scammed on a used Tesla lol Comment from : @raiderleader4220 |
I buy new because I don't have the time and patience for all of that brbrI can't trust them either way I don't trust them not to be shady and do something sneaky if I don't get the warranty, I also don't trust them to uphold the warranty brbrIt's good advice but if I only have a lunch break of time Not happening Comment from : @brianaspinall1831 |
Step one, don’t by from a dealer Comment from : @0leg0101 |
Brutal… just buy a Tesla Comment from : @RyanGross-c1v |

Doc fee $1k is a minimum $500 too much Assume doc fees include title and mandatory items, the rest is fluff that is built into the Retail price quoted Make hay Comment from : @jerseyforhawks |

Best thing to say when they offer the warranty:o is this product so bad that you offer warranties?Maybe I shouldn’t get it if it’s not reliable…… Comment from : @Checkmychamnelforproof |
I've been selling cars for 20 years, and you're 💯 right ✅️ Comment from : @CarlosPeláezDrawings |
I'm a mechanic at a large dealership Car salesmen are borderline sociopathic criminals with coke addictions They know how to manipulate you and most people fall for it Comment from : @x2xtreme360 |
Yes They will say pay for premium coating , inbuilt GPS tracking etc all adds up Comment from : @sunmuthukumar |
A doc fee of $1000 - are you nuts That fee is for a runner to go to the tax office and file the paperwork along with the tax you already agreed to…Not a big buck item Especially because he’s likely filing multiple deals at the same time brWhat should be a crime is the month the dealership sits on the money before getting the paperwork done Comment from : @noelnicholls1894 |
No one ever talks about safety when buying a used car Comment from : @penitentman4862 |
I’m actually looking now and a lot of places now have a little blurb on the bottom of their listings that the listed price plus x will be added for cash purchases They’re really out here trying to close the loopholes for paying in cash! I’m guessing cause they lose the in house financing fees 🤷🏻♀️ Comment from : @godisluv070 |
The way they introduce those warranties is so sleazy You’ve already agreed on the out the door price and they want to spring it on you and bully you into it by focusing on monthly payment instead of actual cost When we bought our van they tried to sell us a warranty for the electronics by saying it would avoid a $4000 repair The warranty cost almost $3000 lol I had trouble explaining why I was saying no because I was so shocked that he was actually trying to sell it with a straight face Comment from : @ghfan2011 |
So I need a 150$ fee to test drive the car?brIs this a joke? Comment from : @makisekurisu4674 |
Just save up and buy a used car that’s around 2-3 years old Comment from : @AllaroundNbackagain |
Buy private party instead You can still hire a mechanic to do an inspection, test drive it, and your local tag office will handle the paperwork Just be sure you check on what the private party price should be, so you don't overpay You are going to overpay at the dealership If it's your only option, I'd comparison shop by getting quotes on a low mileage CPO with lots of good consumer reviews Comment from : @backtoasimplelife |
Why do we need dealers again? Comment from : @adammontgomery7980 |
Not so easy these days Most dealerships won't waste their time with you if they can't rip you off Comment from : @Samtie1 |
What about extended warranty they are 3000 😅 Comment from : @NANETTEMILLER-s8w |
