This is so brave and generous It is true it is really hard to admit that it just isn't working and that perhaps you just can't make it work without making extraordinary sacrifice (and for what?) What is more is that once you admit defeat, it can be such an emotional rollercoaster anger, shame, depression It is not really hard to understand that statement that Elon Musk stated running a business is like staring into the abyss and chewing on glass Comment from : @DarrenDonhardt |
I love this videobrThank YoubrYes I had a story too and I love how you helped us feel betterbrMost importantly its so good to help people not get into this Elon Musk or Fakely funded startups that are hardly doing business but just posing as booming Comment from : @alvinamatanat4369 |
So what did you learn? Not to invest your own money and you have different talent? Comment from : @andrasmolnar516 |
I felt that this video was honestly way too vague to really have an opinion Everything he said needed more contextbrWe don't know if he failed to identify his audience first and therefore the concept was misaligned with market trendsbrOr This idea failed because of poor execution which could be SO SO many reasons So was it just a bad idea or was it mismanaged? No ideabrAll we know is that this endeavor cost the man 60K and he has to take it on chin Comment from : @Pegasus-Lounge |

No regret You have tried and experienced it You can try again later Comment from : @kavo-c2x |

What u r experiencing is a moment for pivoting This is v common in the startup world Basically, ur app either doesn't pick up the traction or if it is having some traction, but it is not yet reaching the product market fit A v acceptable response in general for this kind of circumstances is to pivot the strategy, not the ultimate vision Anyway, im wishing u all the best As a wise entrepreneur, once told, a startup nvr fails, only their founders quit! All the best! Comment from : @DJpiya1 |

The first company I started failed I gave away 50 of the business to a partner even though I was doing all the work This time around, things are completely different—I’m on the verge of closing my first round of funding with an investor So, what changed?brbrInstead of jumping straight into building, I first gathered a use case by messaging brands and pitching my idea This helped me gain traction and interest early on, allowing me to shape the MVP based on what people actually wanted That focus on listening paid off—I secured attention from Fortune 500 and 1000 companies, which in turn caught the interest of an investor I also sought professional advice, working with a lawyer to draft essential agreements (NDAs, shareholder agreements, etc) and found a mentor who provides constructive feedback and valuable resourcesbrbrDuring my first venture, the advice I got was focused on superficial goals: “Imagine the big office, the car, and the money” Now, my mindset is completely different I think about solving problems, becoming the kind of leader I want to be, rewarding employees, and scaling from 0 to 10 customers and beyond It’s been a transformative experience, and it’s made all the difference Comment from : @CassidyFritsch |

Yeah that's how I feel about my aspirations of becoming a successful poker player and gambler but after many consecutive years of failure it's just self destructive brbrLike you said, it's a key to success to allow yourself to erase the original plan and create a new one that will lead you to the better life you are trying to create brbrThanks for the video Comment from : @regalsurvivor3418 |

Your eyes are already telling a story, friend As I also failed, I gotta tell you something that it is completely fine to fail As success is glorified more, we think only we are failed I think you are a winner as you tried something I can't even think of doing, it's a matter of perspectivesbrbrThis was destined so don't give importance to the thought that you've done it Instead, you can be someone to tell what not do, isn't it great?brbrBest wishes from India! Thank you for telling your story about your failure in investing There are many people who tell their success stories, and we usually do not see failure stories, which makes us live in our imagination that we will succeed and become a millionaire, and we do not realize that it is possible that we lose Comment from : @AconhDefulte20 |
I don't see this as being on you It just sounds like the business owners have no idea what they're doing Comment from : @bradmesser4807 |

I failed 4 times before starting the successful business Part of the process for me was to find out what things about myself I need to improve, and another part of it was finding a business that I enjoy enough to work through the rough days Comment from : @johnkirstein333 |
Great Video Daniel, thank you for sharing I had a similar experience but on steroids 6 years and 1 million and ended failing That's why I started my FailWisdom Podcast to help early stage founders to have a better chance at suceeding by listening to other founders stories about their failures, not glamourising successes Check out my podcast here wwwyoutubecom/@startupfailwisdom Comment from : @StartupFailWisdom |
This was so well spoken, honest and brilliant! I love the idea that you tried and how optimistic you were I honestly dont consider this as a failure, but rather is an inspiration story Im sure you're very successful without this startup In my mind, success is peace of mind, not having billions of dollars Comment from : @atift5465 |
Hi Daniel! Thank you for sharing your story I'd like to add a different perspective form my experiance While I'm passionate about my startup, I've come to realize that passion alone isn't always enough for success It's essential to consider profit margins and whether we can sustain the company I've found that having a clear understanding of our financials, including cash flow and access to investor networks, is crucial This insight comes from my own experience, and I hope it proves helpful to others Comment from : @tharukaruwan9041 |
So you spent $40,000 on day to day living, but $10,000 on the business You should have kept your job and done the tech app till it took off Comment from : |

Thanks Daniel for honest sharing his story Because most known stories from Silicon valley about successful, easy money-making, how do they became unicorn from nothing etcbrbrAnd biggest mistake you've made is that you thought about how to make money without being passionate (impacting) about your industry and product And your force is that you realized and admitted it to yourselfbrbr And I like your attitude to this case Like: "Anyway it is not failure as it is It is a biggest and most expensive lesson in my life Which costs $60K and several years time-wasting"brbrps I subscribed to your channel, after this video ))) Comment from : @user-channel-on-youtube |

90 of startups never find product market fit Out of the rest that do, 42 percent still fail Failure in the startup world is the NORM not the exception Successful founders often only succeed after multiple attempts Being afraid of failure in the startup world is synonymous with "being afraid of success" You have to learn how to fail before you can succeed Working at a FANG company is a much better ROI, but for many startup founders and entrepreneurs, never trying is even worse than failure Don't forget you learn a TREMENDOUS amount being a startup founder and while it is painful, it could also be rewarding Tech companies will look favorably upon your resume if you do decide this journey is not for you Comment from : @Cygx |
Hey at least you tried ! Most people wont even do that And you must have learned so much And you have the courage to accept failure and move on Hey Thats something buddy ! Comment from : @7guitarlover |
