Those guys were my neighbours in Strasbourg, Alsace, FR brEvery summer, they made barbecue on their balcony, and Marcel Loeffler was there, Yorgui and Vif Loeffler I just had to open my window to have a wonderful show I know many of "manouche" families (Loeffler, Reinhardt, Merstein, Lorier,) they are good musicians, but also amazing humans with generosity, loyalty, good friendship I really like those guys !

A lot of these modern Gypsy jazz guitarists practice to emulate Django,s blistering speed and they tend to overstretch themselves and something is lost in the music everybody knows Django could play fast but there is a lot more to it than speed it's all about space and phrasing

I'm a great believer that virtuosity can be over-played like second guy Some tunes (and chords) need more feel than speed He should practise a bit more on bending notes to make them sound beautiful (like Django does), rather than losing his notes in fast runs to basically show off

These guys are all virtuoso players Sometimes the music sounds like cartoon music, though - like in those old road-runner cartoons It's too fast Also, these guys have a tendency to show off rather than communicate emotional content, which is what music is about, at least for me I'd take Ry Cooder over these guys anyday
