okay so my dads a pilot and i would like to get a few things straight here Number 1, there job is not that easy, they have to know an insane amount of stuff to do there job safely Number 2, the technology DOSE NOT fly the airplane, the autopilot is only engage when you reach about 3000 ish feet and it is not used to land the plane, all landings are hand flow auto pilot is more like cruise control in you're car and the pilots have to know how to program the auto pilot to do what they want, it dosent just magically work

Absolutely, they deserve the pay Think about what your life is worth and times it by the number of passengers on the flight We put our lives in their hands and the lives of our loved ones and take for granted each time their skills and knowledge in getting us to our destinations safely Many pilots will also be furloughed possibly once in their life That is scary so definitely they deserve the pay they get

Son of a pilot here I have flown some cessnas Pilots do not let technology fly the plane Who do you think is going to save you high up in the sky with a engine failure? Technology cant really save you from it My dad (Senior Captain) and my mum (First Officer) are not out for weeks They are usually back home within 2-5 days at 1 week the latest The job is hard Pilots will still have stress on the job even with a tiny failure that can make a fatal incident They do deserve the salary as you said they help passenger safety Pilots are volounteering to take out their time and enduring the stressbrbrAlso, last week I had my 3rd solo flight which ended into ab engine failure The only technology that saves you and the pilots are the Cockpit Display System (CDS) and the radiobrbrHope this helps!brbrAbout the stays, it's different from the airline my parents work at

Being a pilot of a small aircraft, I can confidently say that becoming a pilot is not easy It’s a lot of studying Comparable to law school for a basic VFR license

I am an airline pilot and this is false, we are away at most 2 days, and if you have a reserve schedule, you can have up to a 100 day gaps and still get payed My flight training including my FAA Medical, private pilots license and more only costed 65k which you will make back in your first year

Those computers you've mentioned can not even do a simple fuel calculation when pilot needs to dump some, let alone doing anything when it is needed to take a critical decision in seconds that affects literally your life
