Would these be a good tire for a Jeep Wrangler I have falken wildpeak at’s but since i do highway driving i’m wondering if these would be a quieter tire but still be able to do some light to moderate off roading No rock crawling Comment from : @jpl8085 |
Was considering these for my F250 in a 35 They don't look like the picture though Comment from : @stitch0666 |
Yes, yes but on a scale of 1 - 10; 10 being the very quietest, how do you score them?? Comment from : @e30m31989 |

I had those Michelin LTX M/S tires they were the best It was time to replace those Michelin tires on my truck and after using Michelin twice I decided to go with COOPER SRX only because I wanted to save money I also knew Cooper are good tires too But boy am I kicking and kicking myself for not spending the extra money for the Michelins again These Cooper tires I have started out quiet but now they are noisy 😢 It’s probably the wear indicator these Cooper tires have I thought first it was a good idea to have wear indicators on the tires but boy was I wrong These tires have only have 9k miles and they costed $220 each Shit am I kicking myself Other than the noise on these Cooper tires they are ok but not as good as Michelin Comment from : @edwardwd3zk |
I love the white lettering on all tires If they dont have it , i use a tire pen and do the letters myself It enhances the overall look especially when clean and tire shined up Comment from : @IrishNew |
I changed my general grabber atx tires for these today In downsized 1” in height and width but I don’t off road anymore I miss the off road look but the ride is better and so is handling Comment from : @TheKingOfHalo |
Def the best overall tire 👍 Comment from : @absolutefreedom |
I love mine I went up to the LT models from the p rated tires on my f150 for two reasons First, I tow a 6000lb travel trailer P tires can handle it, but are maxed out brSecondly, I have to chain up in the snow for hunting The p tires I have get permanent indentations from the chains do to the softer compounds This caused the tire to wear prematurely brbrI have 65,000 on my lt, and am hoping to get another 5-10,000 on them They have 4-5 mm left Comment from : @ChristisKing117 |
I find these tires do ride soft , but I like tires to be a little harder due to handling control , I don't like the wiggle from the comfort but with that being said I drive spirited Comment from : @mikehughes8 |

What's the rim size? Comment from : @RENEGADE-gk9hv |

I had them on my RAV4 and at 48,000 miles they were not fit for winter driving plus they had severe weather cracks between the treads They were supposed to be 90,000 mile tires but didn’t last I had them rotated and balance every 5,000 miles I know there’s Michelin fanatics out there that brag about how theirs last over the rating and won’t believe any bad reviews Besides the bad mileage they made you feel very bump and crack in the road! Not that smooth Comment from : @kirklewis5222 |
Still running these? I've had mine for a year now, and they have been amazing Comment from : @fish4life226 |
I am torn between this or the BFG Trail terrain Not KO2 (too damn loud) BFG makes a Trail Terrain tire that is quiet on road but still retains durability BGF is made by Michelin anyways It's like saying BFG is Toyota and Michelin is Lexus lol Comment from : @1119-w3u |
I see they’re 4 ply, everyone I’ve talked to said to get 8 or 10 ply for a truck, curious what’s your thoughts on that Comment from : @TonyHollis-jo3vy |
I always turn the white letters to the inside, I feel like an advertisement for tire companies if not Comment from : @Michael-wy7om |

If anyone uses light truck tires, "LT", you can usually find brand new "take off" tires for sale Most are removed at the dealership and sell for less than half price The Companies that do this want more aggressive rubber for working in the bush Comment from : @gt7500 |
Dude you are so annoying Comment from : @SnoDawg |
Goodyear has never been a good tire on new trucksbrThere are solid companies that sell tires as good or better than LTX MichelinsbrFalcons are one all terrain that are better Comment from : @1234tellmewhatyourlookingfor |
I’m a mechanic and always have driven trucks and buy Michelin LTX/Defenders and also recommend them to any other truck owners even if they don’t listen to good advice Comment from : @musclecarsrt2324 |

Thanks for the video, I am contemplating these for my 2013 Tacoma Did you ever get a chance to see how they did in snow/ice? I live in SD, winters aren't terrible, but we get some heavy snow occasionally Currently running General Grabber ATX's and didn't realize the tire shop I got them from put on LT tires, so much stiffer and louder I am imaging than these Michellin's! Comment from : @chrislin5861 |
I swear by Michy LTX for plowing snow ❄️ sawblades Comment from : @DynoDieselWagon |
Great video dude Comment from : @coloradofan7034 |
These are good tires My Tundra mpg didn’t change when I got the LTX The AT2 Michelins are not good tires Wear quick and not as much traction Comment from : @Chickennss |
I own a transportation company for the last 10 years This is all I run on my vehicles here in South Florida for me They are a 10 out of 10 in every category and we generally get between 60000 and 70,000 miles that is with routinely rotating with every oil change, and I am militant about keeping the proper PSI So trust me when I tell you over the last 10 years I bought hundreds of these never had an issue, highly recommend Comment from : @youcanthide004 |
I was going to buy a Set of these tires and they're going to discontinue them why for the defender 2 don't like tread Comment from : @michaelmuldrow1421 |
Okay thank you Comment from : @Ricky-eo5ym |

How are your tires holding up today, what are your miles, and what is your performance? Are they 10-ply? Comment from : @Ricky-eo5ym |

Thanks for the review I purchased a 2021 Tundra with these tires on it I was debating on changing to an A/T I now am rethinking on changing out these tires I love how nice they ride and the quietness of highway driving Comment from : @josepheller8395 |

Have a work truck that has this tires and i am gettinf close to hittinf 90k miles on them Every oil change i would get them rotated and balanced Comment from : @efraingomez9365 |

I'm looking at the 275/65 R-18s to replace my R-22s to get a smoother ride with better pothole and rough road protection for my 2022 Ram 1500 Laramie Crew Cab 4WD Should I be getting the C1 or SL version? Odd thing is when I choose "SL" it gives me the LT version I thought it would be opposite since the C1 is heavier dutybrbrAlso, what thickness wheel/rim would you recommend? Mostly doing local and small highway drives with some time in the mountains on winding roads and some dirt roads, but somewhat rare Comment from : @Noneya777 |
Just recently replaced my Michelin all season tires after 11 years for my 2005 Camry Incredible tires In winter, I have Michelin X ice tires Toronto, Canada Comment from : @marcelpatel9017 |
I have a 2010 Tacoma I put the LTX AT2 on them in 2015 and have nearly 90k miles on them Just now looking for replacements as there is some dry rot starting to show up, but the treads are fine Looking into the MS2 and this review has been helpful Thanks Comment from : @BlockedDeeBo |
Don't worry about tire wear salt will take your truck out quick enough! Comment from : @gonesideways6621 |
Just got mine for my 4runner White letters out! Everyone goes all black Comment from : @jel517 |
You can't go wrong with Michelins! Most pick up drivers spend 90 percent of their time driving on paved roads It's crazy to listen to noise from off road style tires while cruising down the highway I like the raised white letters It adds some contrast to the black sidewalls Comment from : @wg5768 |
I was considering the Defender2 for my car; haven't decided since I have some time, but doubt I have more tread than you do If I heard you right, you only got 20K on Wranglers? I had those on my Jeep Wrangler and they lasted forever Looks like you have plenty of tread, but our state doesn't have auto inspections or snow I'm a mobile auto detailer, and the best one in Central Florida I live in Lakeland, but I'm paid to go as far as Sarasota to Orlando up to Port Richie to do a single car The reason I'm saying that is because I'm more than qualified to say your truck looks classy just the way it is! brbrI was shocked to see nice [conservative] tires on it and not lifted to the sky Putting nobbies on it will indeed make it look more redneck, and who better to know than me (a redneck detailerlol)? But, that's going to ruin the style of the truck as it is now Plus, you are right, the noise will drive you nuts and the cost is insane Since you asked, white letters are mandatory One would be crazy to buy them blacked out Your truck looks great, nice color too (my car is gray) and nice top It looks perfect the way it is If you were my client, I'd beg you to keep it like that Comment from : @floridaredneck |
Hi I’m live In Wilson, NY Wondering if these tires held up for you after a couple of years? Have you replaced them? How many miles? Comment from : @Arthur-sh6xd |

Was looking through your channel for a follow up video on snow/ice performance and didn’t see one brbrHow do they do in bad winter weather?brbrThanks! Comment from : @Bajablast_scuba_cat |
They're fine for the fisrt year and turn into skates in rain Comment from : @blue03r6 |
Every set of Michelin tires that I have had, always start dry cracking between the treads long before they are worn out Other than that, they are amazing tires Comment from : @jcom-yy7kv |
No raised white letters Comment from : @email16v |
I have these on my pathfinder I'm in mega snow canada Best all weathercompromise I've ever seen And No!! To the stupid Smokey and the bandit white letters!!! Comment from : @DaHubable |
Did I catch that they are rated for 70,000 miles and you are trading them out at 20,000 miles? Comment from : @mikedelgrande5138 |
Would you recommend this on an Acura MDX? Comment from : @josepheagan5294 |

Does anyone actually talk like this? Jesus I hate this guy and Im only 30 seconds in Is this what a typical taco owner is like? Comment from : @this_is_stupid-x3b |
Hmm that remains to be seen in real life testing Comment from : @mrvang8077 |
These defenders are great on 16" wheels on my Tacoma However, the 22" on my Tahoe are not very good They are quiet but I get a lot of slipping in light rain, even when just leaving the carwash after a few thousand miles on my 22's Tread life is excellent in both sizes Comment from : @brianlopez7228 |
I have everyone in my family and friends circle buying these Nothing but praise over the last 3 years Comment from : @Seriously140 |
I find Michelin bouncy Bridgestone is my fav Comment from : @JohnK-pb6mn |
OWL Tires all the way! But, I prefer to old school Brand and Model, not just the cheesy, small "Michelin" on there twice Comment from : @519VXComanche |
If I’m towing a horse trailer about 5 times a month, do you think these are still good tires? 2020 Ram 1500 4x4 Comment from : @jenniferm234 |
If you really improve three or four MPG just off of those tires compared with stock tires that's incredible because the stock tires are not even hardly an all-terrain and they only weigh 37 lb each I think the michelin's are the same exact weight and everything so that's crazy I was thinking maybe one or two Comment from : @honda116969 |
Hankook dynapro atm on my 2022 ranger and I've got 40k miles on them and still got tread Comment from : @MadInsanity |
These tires are badass in every single category just they look like a pussy tire but they're anything but VERY surprising! My truck is 🦴 stock I'm getting ready to put a set of Cooper AT 10 ply 265/75/16 it will raise the truck about 1/2 of an inch I'm sure I'm going to lose 1-2 MPG because they're 15 lb heavy per tire from 38lb up to 54lbs! But the sidewalls on these things are so solid if I ever have to go over a curb I don't have to ever worry about a flat🛞 Comment from : @honda116969 |
Your wife is right she has the real vehicle that does it all called a Jeep Wrangler very good ride for long trips off-road and you can do anything you want to with solid axles not peony wimpy Independence suspension Comment from : @jamieeisenhower1560 |
KO2’s are great on my Tacoma Comment from : @handle1x1 |
Great review, picked these up for my awd vw toureg they are so quiet! Great tire Comment from : @Lawst-1 |
My michelin tires cost more than my S10 is worth They are great in rain love them Comment from : @sschevmale24 |
You are not keeping them for 70k anyway Comment from : @jcmoye1 |
I bought these tires when they first came out around 6 years ago I think they'll age out before I get them worn down to 2/32", I think I have 6/32" left or so at 56k miles Every time I get into another car, I hear the tire noise and am reminded of how smooth and silky the defenders are They absorb bumps so well after all these years Fuel economy is good I've used them off road and every time it snows I had all-terrains for the last 2 sets of tires before this and a set of all-seasons before that and I don't think I'll be going back to ATs I am interested in the new Defender LTX M/S 2 tires that recently come out, to these tires to see how they compare They don't have it out in my size yet, but if they do I'll definitely be interested to see if they are quieter and absorb bumps as well They claim to work better with today's heavier vehicles, so I'm a little concerned they'll be stiffer on my old "lightweight" 30 year old vehicle But the 'piano' tuning sounds like it might be promising Comment from : @reigndown |
How are these on snow/icy road? Comment from : @Fr4nkSanchez |
I think im going with these on my 4runner soon Since i commute 46-50 miles to work i need better road performance and the 8ncreased quiet and mpgs will be nice Ive been pouring through reviews and the off road performance is very well rated for a tire that doesn't "look" like it will I'm stoked Comment from : @TheDesertRat31 |
The Michelin LTX are excellent tires But the Continental Terrain Contact HT are better Better ride, better traction, and similar tread life Comment from : @jameseroh6544 |
Hi Garage Gear! I have a 2017 Tacoma and I tow a light travel trailer (3160 dry weight) I'm looking to purchase the Defender LTX M/S in my stock size 245/75r16 Will the 111T do the job? Any suggestions? Comment from : @garymcnally1496 |
history shows if you can afford michelins, buy them they rarely disappoint in the long run Comment from : @timkis64 |
I had a set and they wore fast Switched to Continental Terrain Contact A/T Comment from : @csinalabama |
Are all the defender ltx m/s tire sizes made in USA? Comment from : @jmharrisjr |
Bridgestone are the worst on my taco Period Total garbage Comment from : @derekmarshall6673 |
Had these on a blazer, great tires White letters all the way! Comment from : @vitosimone4618 |
13 years as a tire tech… Michelin are one of the best tires made today…matter of a fact other tire companies copy the tread pattern of the Michelin I do not get paid from this company I have them on my 2019 Toyota Tundra and my motor home Great review God bless the USA Oh and white letters out Comment from : @antoniobriggs9180 |
