Born and raised in NYC, $200k is a lot in NYC most people live of WAY less with more works and more mouths to feed If they kept their debt or under 100k and live in a modest apartment They will have more than enough to save for their future and have LOTS of fun

For a single person, living in a bottom of the barrel low rent apartment in new york and spending very reservedly on food, they still only making about $50/hr Of course it's salary, so the 60hr/week is actually more realistically going to be 80hrs to 100hrs per week without any OTbrbrThat's nothing for what the expectation of those lawfirms on their employees

60h is pretty standard in academia, if not a low number, and almost none of those people make that and they do the research which a lot of medical or psychological treatments are based on etc but at least I don't have to live in the US 😂
