I disagree on this My co-worker is excellent in his job, he can do whatever the management ask him to do But guess what??? He is still in entry-level position and haven't promoted nor increased his salary There are other co-workers with master degree and got promoted This woman does not know what she is talking about

I have a double degree in economics and health science, got a specialized certification in healthcare finance, and I now worked in a top hospital in the world Why? My certification school has deep connections with top NYC hospitals like Mount Sinai and Cornell Medicine, and they did their best to connect use with them It was specialized practical knowledge with job connections that got me through, and not simply my 2 degrees with high honors

I think look at the program and what it's providing Im applying for a 1 year Public administration program (government work) that offers the ability to do independent research and built in internships and professional placement I want to go into law one day and this program can get me closer to the field i want to get into rather than staying at my minimum wage fast food job for another year Take the master's if it betters u Also the program is only 12-13K which I can pay off in a year of full time minimum wage (live small and budget)

Interesting but uncommon perspective to add In my culture we have arranged marriage, if you are a man you can have a easier time getting interest from women if you have a graduate degree since it sets you apart My mom told me to go to grad school, not for the education or career benefits, but so I can find a partner easier I can say looking as both a undergraduate and graduate degree holder there was a noticeable difference in how people treated me

Having employed over 10,000 people in over 15 industries in nearly 20 years I can say confidently…Get the masters Get it out of the way Just get it done People look for logical reasons to be flashy, lazy, or rebellious Education is to be valued If you don’t believe so, you probably haven’t met enough people in different the right tax brackets I was successful without any formal education I later saw the value in education I have been everything from a Managing Partner to a CEO Get the Masters Limiting yourself for fear of being overqualified is ridiculous That mindset alone will get you no meaningful, sustainable success

By Healthcare you would also include public health right? Bc the issue is like to do many public health related jobs with decent pay you HAVE to have a masters or to get experience you have to be a masters student Like besides an ORISE fellowship there is hardly anything you can do in public health without a masters unless you are well versed in biostats/informatics which is NOT my field
