My neighbors were robbed, they took everything they could, every single appliance, and what they couldn’t fit in the truck they stored in the garage, changed the lock intending to come back for it I would never use any of these places you’ve mentioned I don’t keep my valuables in my house at all You just have to look online at robberies and see they can comb thru everything in a short time Don’t forget there will probably be more than one person too

The book boxes are an idiotic BAD IDEA most thieves will trash an empty house pulling out every drawer and shelf and easily walk away with the carry-safe with all your valuables all safes need to be BOLTED DOWN (using unseen internal fixtures)

I rented a mobile home for 18 months a few years back The lady who had lived there before me had passed away suddenly Most of the home was empty but some useful household items, cutlery, plates, pots and pans were left behind I was really thankful for the items as I had nothing but a couple of bin bags full of possessions at the time I was replacing the carpet in one of the bedrooms one day and 'hidden' underneath the carpet was an old brown envelope The envelope contained enough money for me to be able to pay the rent on the mobile home for over a year!!brbrbrThe rent was only £4 a week (£200 per annum) as I was the live-in site warden on a tiny caravan site at the time The ex warden had no relatives so I was allowed to keep the money I think there was about £300 in the envelope in total I was always grateful to my mystery benefactor and when I visit the area I'll place flowers on her gravebrbrFunny thing was - even though I found the envelope under one of the carpets, I never thought (at the time) to look under any of the other carpets and flooring in the other rooms I did find an almost new vacuum cleaner 'hidden' in a void behind a bedroom cupboard after being there a few months I should really have looked a bit closer all those years ago!

Love it I have some clients that stash candy and snacks for themselves, hiding the treats from their teenagers I made a few "Snack Safes" for them from old books that teens would never open, and some from empty boxes of feminine products They found their bedrooms were not ransacked anymore by hangry teens 🤣🤣

What about the flush tank of the water closet? Obviously you cant store stuff like currency notes or documents but you can put stuff in sealed plastic pouches with the flap above the water surface for extra protection against water damage

A friend of mine 'hid' some gold chains and bracelets in the lining of his living room curtains He said the weight of the gold made the curtains 'hang better', much like the lead weights or big coins people use to weigh down drapery Six months later he sold the house, including the curtains and carpets in the sale and totally forgot to retrieve his £3000 worth of hidden goldbrHe called the buyer of his house months later, explained his predicament and asked if he could get his gold back The buyers had took all the curtains down and donated them to a charity shop His living room curtains were really long, old-fashioned floral things which the charity shop said probably wouldn't sell, but they'd use them as dust sheets in their warehouse Anyway, my friend, as a last hope, visited the charity shop and his long, ugly curtains were hanging over a rail with the other not-so-ugly curtains He didn't have the nerve to go searching for his hidden gold in the linings, so he bought them and took them home Guess whatthe gold chains and bracelets were still in the linings after many months £3000 worth of! He was delighted, and relieved in equal measure! The curtains were redonated and returned to the charity shop and are to this day probably still there, gathering dust but a few ounces lighter in the metallic content😅
