Canon cameras are amazing! What I don't understand is why this new model doesn't have an articulating screen as in the Canon EOS 60D which is a huge plus for videographers as well as photographers alike Sony got it right as far the SLT A77's articulating screen design Imagine the 5D with that feature

The price in Greece is 3200 Euros for the body and 3800 for the 24-105 kit i will sell my mkii and get a nikon d800 (2650 Euros)

Just to clear something up - levels and headphones are needed for field recording Levels indicate how much range you're using and if you are in danger of clipping or recording levels that are so low they need gain adding in post that would also amplify system noise Headphones do not indicate level but they do allow you to listen for exteranious sounds, tech noise etc and performance quality To suggest that headphones should be used to monitor level (as this video does is) is plain wrong

@bnnkhardcore well the 7D isn't a professional grade camera IN COMPARISON to the 5D MKII or MKIII The 7D still a great camera but that step from hobbyist to professional is monumental thus why there is such a jump Just get a MKII

@5feeve ever wondered why swivel screens are always fitted on entry level cameras and compacts and NEVER on pro cameras? Because swivel screens are a entry-level amateur requirement Buy a compact camera

@mrksts1 It's also not in the same price range as a RED or competitive full-frame camcordersand it takes amazing pictures as high ISO value which the video cameras don't do You can't have every single feature from both worlds and 1/10th of the cost at the same time :P

Does the Mark III have autofocus? If not, it's hardly more than a novelty for video I would have to spend a great deal of money to make my 7D capable of shooting video properly First I have to buy a manual follow focus setup, second there is no eyecup so forget outdoor shooting or keeping focus (buy that) Third, there is no image stabilization (camera rig, eh) To me, a dedicated video camera is the way to go I like the prospect of in-camera HDR, and the greater number of focusing points!

They speak about moiré reduction Imhk moiré is caused by line skipping Is the 5D III still line skipping? The LS was a real turnoff from my 550D, because it made the video functionality useless to me It lowers sensitivity and adds moiré Without LS these camera's would really be a match for RED, concerning video quality With LS, video recording is just a useless gadget

Well i personally believe that its too costly Im talking form the perspective of a film maker We have almost overcome most of the short coming of the DSLRs Like using the external mic recorder to fix the audio issues I don't need a camera with a higher ISO, neither do i need a camera with a 1040k dot 3:2 LCD I need a compact and affordable camera I am getting tired of their half and half costly upgrades
