I completely disagree I have both invested in real estate and stocks and based on my experience, stock investing is , in my opinion, way better than investing in real estate Just compare the net worth of stock investor Warren Buffet and Real Estate investor Donald Trump Guess who’s richer? What makes real estate investing attractive is that it’s more tax beneficial than stock investing and returns may be higher but only if everything is going your way It will become problematic when you have property taxes and insurance going up, tenants not paying, vacancies, utility costs going up, repairs and maintenance occurring more frequently, repair cost is more than you anticipated and the list could go on and on Not to mention, the stress and anxiety when tenants calling you early in the morning due to plumbing or electrical issues I am now more of a stock investor than a real estate investor I still invest in real estate but thru REIT stocks Comment from : @neilperez2522 |

so much easier to get into stock market i'd expect S&P growth of 20 per year avg, esp as rates come down we have 2 rentals and are a sneeze below breaking even 5 years in and at 36 avg interest rates granted, we have not been super aggressive raising rental rates bc we prioritized keeping the places rented and with good tenants cash flow from a property usually takes years to obtain, or is obtainable sooner if you put down a much higher down payment i expect we will do well when we sell, but i could have done much better if i'd just put the $$ into the market i'd rather have an extra $30k growth a year than be able to take of $7k of taxable income on the other side, it is a good learning experience and we technically "diversified" our income Comment from : @Jeremy-k6t |
