Awesome tone Comment from : @markjohnson6485 |

Can somebody give me the exact model of this guitar Comment from : @SKASELOVERSINCE |
Need a lil half-cocked wah pedal Comment from : @leegrant245 |
It is the "unique" guitar itself, that Mark knopfler used Why you can not get the exact same sound Comment from : @peggyfleener3111 |
I still haven’t found speakers to give this song the volume it deserves Comment from : @chrisstallard6 |

did you add wah on this one? Comment from : @lasersauceretroarchives6544 |
this is not the exact tone, mark already tell the secret of the tone of this iconic song, he mention its the picking covering the sound and I guess that one thing you can separate mark from other guitarist and his unique way of finger pickingbrbr wwwyoutubecom/shorts/p21bOE_GDJU Comment from : @eckoluismusic |
Close enough👍💯 Comment from : @kurtweiand7086 |
He plucks his pointer and middle finger down on beat one and his thumb on beat too If you watch the video, he explains how he did it Comment from : @AlyssaMartiniMusic |
Dude, i can play better after 40 beers Comment from : @sandorhartig3957 |
Its not far off Comment from : @jaschaschaub676 |
I heard he use an open wah pedal to give the riff its originality, definately sounds like it Comment from : @aaroncicanese |
it's close but needs to be cleaner and grungier at the same time, the original it's deinifitely very clear tone and has lots of gain in it Comment from : @motoraxservicemotociclete |
Personally it sounds a little too bright and not enough low end But pretty darn close Comment from : @josephpretorius8607 |
Pretty colse but not exactly the same picking brThe tone is great! Comment from : @jannichar |
Love it Comment from : @sharrelson3344 |
Hey Comment from : @iLayMattress |
I wish my pick ups sounded like that… it’s either soft and sweet or mean and stabby Comment from : @Lord_Baphomet_ |
With all do respect: not even close Comment from : @peterbaron6818 |

The tone is so absurd Never heard a guitar sound better Comment from : @EAsinus |
God you fucking talk too much Comment from : @jonr7207 |
As a drummer, the drum solo at the beginning and into the groove is also iconic Comment from : @LoganGose-tg1py |
This single short made me start appreciating Dire Straits, thank you man Comment from : @supertommy1000ify |
That is a very complex song that probably just flowed out naturally! One that the writter itself can't remember what he did! Comment from : @christiand7437 |
When I play this, I switch on my cry baby and move it until it sounds right Fun song!! Comment from : @terrywood3883 |

Add a notch wha Comment from : @bartvuijk5645 |
Nailed it Comment from : @davidwilmore145 |
It sounds like he's got a wha pedal slightly closed or opened too Comment from : @BarronVonSchneider |
Craziest part of this song is thar Mark was unsatisfied with the original take so when Weird Al asked if he could parody the song he said only on one condition: That he could play on it And eventually he got a take exactly how he REALLY wanted it Comment from : @randomguyontheinternet7940 |
I think you got the tone quite well But what's not there yet is the fluid and melodic progression of the notes the way you're playing them Of course, few can duplicate the mastery of a Mark Knopfler playing Comment from : @surfwriter8461 |
Spirit in the Sky is probably the most famous Comment from : @Techn9cian123 |
Probably on acid they could never replicate that badass song Comment from : @snakebite2529 |
The thing that made it a special tone was they had a wah pedal in the pedal chain and had it slightly turned on Just slightly being pushed thru They talked about it on a video I saw Said after they recorded they tried and tried to figure it out but eventually remembered the wah pedal was on but just not being used It really does take it to that next level Distortion pedal or just a nice Marshall distortion with a wah pedal clicked on and slightly turned up, and a EQ pedal Mess with the mids and treble until you find the sweet spot Comment from : @TylerRajeski |
The tone was well but the rhythm? I thought you knew better Comment from : @ECMETALLICA |
Not fat enough But very close Comment from : @JPVanderbuilt |
A mic fell down in the studio The one that was right on the speaker Only the room mic was on! Mark went to go fix the mic and the producer said NO! That's a perfect sound! Comment from : @christopherhorton4634 |

Sounds like Jumping Jack Flash! brDo you hear it? Comment from : @tanquerayandchronic5308 |
My dumbass thought this song was impossible to play until I saw you finger picking it - so much easier that way, thanks! Comment from : @ØįØ-t5e |
That's right it's the song thats in the title of the video How'd u guess ? Comment from : @SimPlee-s9b |
This song is great and so is dire saints but the album cover that money for nothing is on is horrible 😭 Comment from : @BuckLover24 |
that's the way you do it Comment from : @manavverma425 |

Too bright but not bad Comment from : @zechs5079 |
