Can confirm the spices thing I’ve been using chilli powder from the 70s (according to my mom) and it’s barely flavourful I went to a restaurant that probably? uses fresh ingredients and their chilli flakes still don’t taste like much I’ve concluded that chilli powder/flakes don’t taste like much unless you eat a whole handful in a bar just to prove yourself What was I talking about? Comment from : @snowowlmv3 |

Dry the extra fresh herbs you buy, it's better than having them wilt in the fridge Comment from : @SugarandSarcasm |

Honestly, if you don’t have a spice grinder and you want to invest in whole spices, go get a bladed spice/coffee grinder You can get one for, like, a dollar at the thrift store, and it’ll barely take up any more space than a jar of tomato sauce Even if you DO buy new, it’s like fifteen dollars for a perfectly good one, and it’ll last you forever if you don’t do anything stupid like try to grind rocks with it My family has had one that’s still working just fine from the late eighties Comment from : @celestecrabb |
Bought my spices hole now it burns please advise Comment from : @jasonxhx7854 |

For supermarket international sections, always check the sell by dates I've found things months past the date and personally I wouldn't be comfortable buying products so far out of date Because their imported I feel like the store is more reluctant to throw them out, so if there isn't good turnover for that product it could be sitting there for months past when it should Comment from : @ThatGirlKim |

Also matters what shops you buy from as some are far more pricey than others Buy whole food rather than chopped, for instance 25 kg chicken is £8, and its fresh Cutting a chicken is fairly simple and cant mess up too badly Yes, some of that weight is bones but its still far better value for money than pre-cut foods Fruits too, whole mango for instance is half the price and more weight than chopped Money saved really adds up over the year Comment from : @ninthshark9153 |
