Same problem going back to work two years after starting SS at 62 So, if I’m say 30,000 over the 22,000 limit set by SS is there a way to lower your Gross income by putting that 30,000 in a IRA or some of it n a Health savings account? Any suggestions on lowering the gross income amount would be greatly appreciated Comment from : @douglashite4410 |
4:43 So the money that comes from a 457b does not count as income against this $22k SS earnings limit?? How about ROTH or Traditional IRA disbursements? Comment from : @ron9665 |

Is that $21,000 before or after deductions and taxes? Comment from : @constancerobinson1377 |

Your comment "Vodoo Magic" is spot on! Only the US Gov't would penalize you when you try to improve your own financial situation Tip - If you want to win at this rigged game, you need to have something in common with the politicians (who craft the rules) and the major political donors (who compensate them) It's "unearned income" You can retire early, take Social Security early, and have as much unearned income as you desire, and you'll never be penalized for having too much income Comment from : @DaveM-FFB |

The government just rips people off, they want you to take Social Security early saves them money, or they think you'll die before you take it later That's what it is Comment from : @romeo8334 |

Why are US citizens penalized for trying to earn money the right way as opposed to getting government assistance Sometimes, there are extenuating circumstances that need to be handled, and aside from earnings, there is very little that can be done The criteria seems skewed Comment from : @Awilli9071 |

Its quiet interesting how we reject the reality of our situation and expect to be able to observe it, control it and even change it I used to be financially depressed until I read a book that made me realized that the secret to making a million is making better investments! I am turning 66 in Oct of this year I am still working fulltime If I apply for my SS before the end of 2023 will my income for this year be taking as a factor? I am single and less that $35,000 a yeaar Or can I or should I, begin the process now for it to start 2024? Comment from : @vada6574 |
If they take 5,000 off you and give it back 20 to 75 at a time you'll never get it all back, not very clear info Comment from : @wakeup6910 |

A friend of ours is a consultant and started taking Social Security at 62 He doubled his rates, thinking it would slow his business down and make up for the money SS would take anyway He ended up being busier than ever! I guess he should have been charging more years ago Comment from : @dianeschenkelberg8270 |

You are so straight forward and to the point and am learning more because of it Some of these guys vids lag on and on in length and are redundant just want you to know my time is winding down to decide very soon what a ride thanks for all you do! 🤗 Comment from : @jerryschweitzer5051 |

Finally! This is the subject everyone's been waiting for How about talking more about how much they actually penalize you when you go over I almost passed up a $120,000 a year job at 65 years old because I thought they'd penalize me $49,000, and I'd never see a check for 4 yrs (That's not the case) Comment from : @Mars-77 |

If you retire at 62 in May, does the income from Jan thru April that same year count towards that limit of $21,240? Thanks for the info Comment from : @rickjames6740 |
Well I turn 65 this year, still working not collecting yet Thinking about starting in January at 65 and 3 months so if I go past the allotted amount next year and continue working I would only be penalized for one year as the following year would be my full retirement age First video I watch that says "You might get it back" which I get it I will have to live past that break even age It's a tough thing since I love my job But I loved the video "The Cajun Ninja's Dad" Comment from : @masterlee4370 |
