I was the "bad kid" I told my mother every step of the way what my stepfather was doing My grandparents pulled her aside to talk to her about it My grandparents pulled me out of my home TWICE to take care of me They banned my stepfather from their house, even though they ran all of the holiday dinnersbrbrTwo years after I was out of state, it happened to my brother The good kid My mother believed him immediately and filed for divorce the next daybrbrShe swears she didnt know it was happening to me She still cannot admit that she discounted it because she also thiught I was the bad kid She still cannot admit that she thought my reactions to it were the reason she didnt trust mebrbrI joined the military to get away I joined the military to KNOW that I could handle my step fatherbrbrI am not healed And I will not be healed until I get to see his funeral Until I can see which family members understand me publicly urinating on his grave, and which family members will have yet another excuse to say I'm overreacting

I'm almost 30 I'm a transmasc person I knew my identity by age sixbrbrI was SAed and groomed at twelve by a family friend He got out of prison ten years before he served his full sentence because of "good behavior"brbrThe triggers are awful I can't even look at that R word or hear it without turning my head because I can't stand what happened to me

I'm 36 and as a man it feels so lonely and I can see all my struggles stem from the abuse I got from my mother Now I have a girlfriend and I'm really wanting to help her through hers it's coming out from me emotionally more so now She's there for me but I don't want to burden her with my issues I been desperate for a family for ever The only thing I could do is cut my family off I'm scared being alone Being male makes it worse

I was abused by my step father and mother in every imaginable way from age 5 up until 17 or 18 Can any kind soul out there help?? Life has been a struggle ever since I left If u ask the gov for help in the USA it's like shooting for the stars I ended up w basically nothing and moved to Mexico w a friend, tried contacting SSDI through an email but no luck

My girlfriend took their life away days ago because of childhood trauma flashbacksbrI’m broken inside because I didn’t know what they were carryingbrThey told me in the beginning of the relationship that they were having flashbacks but weren’t sure about what it wasbrI didn’t make research enough to know what someone with childhood trauma was going throughbrI tried to bring them out, that we do things together but they were so anxious, afraid of lots of things I use to think that they weren’t seeing me in the relationship brReading their goodbye letter broke my heart I’m so ashamed for not being able to be there for them and give them the words of reassurance they needed brI feel ashamed for complaining about you not wanting to do things that involve socializing babebrbrToday, I’m sitting here crying with my whole soul

i try to get over my child abuse but it just affects everything :( the guy i like said im not good at communicating… so i started googling why someone may not be good at communicating, of course it says those who endured child abuse may have communication skills that aren’t as good the guy i’m talking to lost his mom last year, so he knows what it’s like to experience trauma but not so much childhood trauma it seems as though as a child these things affects us more mentally

The stigma is so real! I have a harder time opening up and connecting after hearing so many people say to give up on victims of abuse preemptively because of their background, which is something they can’t controlbrbrIf it was their current behavior that was unhealthy, I’d understand setting boundaries but to completely dismiss people because of that one thing they couldn’t control growing up is baffling to me

I know something happened to me I can't remember I know my mother knows When I asked her what it was she told me sometimes it's better not to remember To me that means she knows what I don't It's been a few years since I asked and I know she will never tell me But I will remember who it was that she isn't saying eventually I haven't been able to get help professionally yet unfortunately A part of me is dying to remember because I feel it's unfair to carry so much shame for something I can't even remember and clearly wasn't my fault But I know it's better to remember when I have help and support too which I don't have But I just can't deal with not knowing even though they will be painful and difficult memories to relive some day Does anyone have advice on how to cope with not knowing until you rememeber? And how to get through reliving it once the picture is clear and you do remember?
