A real morgan silver dollar is slightly magnetic, but only slightly! If you take a small earth magnet of a particular size, hold the coin on a hard surface, at about a 45 angle, the small steel earth magnets that are about 1/4 inch in diameter, will slowly glide down the face of the coin! It will not stick to the coin, and it will not slide down unimpeded either! Comment from : @WilliamSirman

You can hear it's brass and cupronickel plated, not even silver plated The Chinese make this variety thicker for the weight to be close to 2673 I've seen the graders mess up a few of these that were silver I caught them, because of high spots and raised marks Those guys are far from perfect I mean they clean coins for you, but if you do it the same way it's cleaned, what???? It is easier to use 18k gold acid to test for silver, it shows up white-ish and so much more easier than the actual silver acid testeralso if you add acid that you don't use a lot, or it is older and not worthy to use you can put it on all the marks to clean the testing stone I don't get a lot of platinum and it came with my kit and I use it to clean the stone ;-) Comment from : @sprygirl64
