I seriously considering this It's been suggested that Cleaned/Jewelry gra de is best for stacking Do you agree? Comment from : @07blackdog |

Used to get Quarter Eagles close to spot, while now they‘re double their spot price Half Eagles and up are usually still fairly reasonable in price Good bullion and collectible pieces, though they tend to lean towards the latter these days Comment from : @johannscoins657 |

My grandfather had a decent horde of pre-33 gold coins he came to the US with in the 40s He saved every coin until a family member he gave shelter, food, and cash to stole them all in the 1970s Drugs make people do horrible thingsbrEdit Subscribed! Comment from : @Francosmartcarb1 |

The pre 33 is nice and would like some someday But I will not count on its collectibility to somehow shield it from future confiscation Comment from : @SilverHeist |

I just love Pre - 1933 gold coins I only have twelve of these coins in my stack but hope to get some more soon My most favorite gold coin in my stack is the 1915 Saint Gaudens Gold Double Eagle Comment from : @tylerdouble8721 |

I think every stack in the US should have at least one pre-33 coin in it I collect pre-33 The $10 Liberty Head is my favorite size I like the way it looks and feels in the hand I think the $20 Liberty Head Double Eagle reverse in full glory is the most beautiful reverse on any coin If you just want to stack, common date Pre-33 as former jewelry, polished, cleaned or a grade less than AU58 should be seen as bullion IMHO so the premium should be very low, like 5 or less Personally, I don’t buy $1, $250 or $3 coins unless slabbed by a top tier grading service like PGCS, NGC, ANACS, CAC There are too many fakes The last piece I picked up is a 1909-D $5 Indian Half Eagle NGC AU58 for $675, which $115 over spot at as I post this SD Bullion wants $700 for a 1/4 oz American Gold Eagle which is $120 over spot JM Bullion wants $716 APMEX $716 $136 over spot Point here is not to criticize any of these companies, it’s to let people know it’s possible to pick up a pre-33 for less of a premium than American Gold Eagles Comment from : @tomtharos4440 |
