When parking we should apply the hand brake before putting in Park, specially on an incline so we don't overload the parking pawl

Thanks for this, after more than 30 years driving a manual car, I'm test driving an automatic soon, I have a pain condition and everyone tells me I'd be more comfortable in an automatic I'm a bit reluctant as I really enjoy changing gears, but I mostly drive in country lanes which means a lot of gear changing, which in turn means a lot of pain It's probably daft of me to feel sad about no more manual driving but I do!

I passed my test in a Manual 3 minors I was only allowed to learn Manual to me I find Automatic very hard and complicated could be my learning disability I don’t know but it is really difficult I just can’t not deal with not having a clutch or changing gear just makes it difficult I wish I will be able to learn automatic as well as soon all cars will be automatic it’s really hard to explain I have respect to all those that can drive automatic I would really like to learn

I’ve been driving for a bit over 45 years now I’ve owned automatic cars as well as manual cars I have even been driving a manual car that required double clutching when shifting up or down You easily get used to either way and most of the time I don’t even notice when I’m shifting because it’s already fully set in my brains and muscle memory Automatic driving is fine and to some occasional drivers it may seem more comfortable, but after you’ve made enough kilometers you really don’tnotice the difference anymorebrbrThat all said, I must add that my next car will be hybrid, thus automatic (cvt)

I am quite concerned with your suggestion that we switched to Park when waiting in traffic lights I believe quite a few manufacturers don’t recommend switching to P in that situation It’s possible to remain using Drive or, if you wish, neutral But definitely not P to avoid damaging the gearbox…

Majority of luxury cars are made in automatic now and if you want a manual you have to specify that Cars like Jaguar, Mercedes BMW It's a lot easier to drive an auto, took me just 4 lessons to pass my test in an auto

I have been driving an automatic transmission for 23 years for the different vehicles that I had over the years When I was in Driver’s Ed in high school the car was an automatic vehicle Even my parents had mostly automatic vehicles from the mid 1980’s to 2018 My mother used to have a car that was manual transmission from 1980-1985 That car was a 1980 Ford Escort station wagon She traded on a 1985 Ford Tempo which it was an automatic I think it is so easy to drive automatic Even my sister drives an automatic,too
