The problem with new bass players is that a lot of people are willing to teach us but no one is willing to give a beginner / intermediate player a spot in their band Everyone wants an advanced professionally experienced player Without a band, your skills can only progress so far before you hit a wall It’s a catch 22 You can take lessons forever but without a chance to play in a band, it’s pointless

I intend to take on learning the bass guitar! I know the phrase 'I know' how many times has that been saidlol I am actively looking for a bass, nothing expensive or cheapsomething that catches my eyeouch, must not be holding it wrong, lol I have watched your 1st tutorial, and I feel encouraged to try You are right 'music theory' can put people off Theory is such a big topic with scary terminolgy and hidden techniques Keeping it simple to begin with is the way forwardbuild confidence and knowledge, and someday you end up playing like Fran Sheehanif only! I have looked at dozens of tutorials here on YouTube, and this is by far and away the best one out there You go slow, and I love the diagrams and explanations Plus you don't waste a lot of time trying to "prove" how good of a player you are! I have played guitar and ukulele plus a bunch of other instruments since I was a kid, but never even touched a bass until a couple of days ago I think I now have a working knowledge of how to play it, and the theory, which no one has ever been able to explain to me before So that was good too I am 74, and am looking forward to getting my own bass which is on order My main interest is in just providing a simple back-up for the ukulele group, and maybe sometimes for a gospel group I play in as well So now to learn some simple accompaniments to use as a background and to help keep everyone on timebr Thanks again so much! I learned a lot watching your video! The best out there!

Thanks for this lecture especially about the theory of music It is clear for 1-4-5, 1 is always above 4 and 5 is two steps away on the same string as 4brbrMost importantly, by considering the diagonal relationship between keys, 5 is always above 1brbrSo, in every fret, there's a 5-4-1 in successive strings downwards brbrThe best thing I've ever learnt as a beginner
