Funny story I had seen this movie a few times, but went back again A friend of mine with a “warped” sense of humor was chugging a large 7up during the scene when Chrissie Watkins was attacked and eaten by the shark The next scene shows the bay At this point my friend let out a large BELCH! The horror of the audience immediately turned to uncontrolled laughter! I have the DVD and to this day, I can’t watch that scene without hearing a belch in my head! Comment from : @recoveringnewyorker2243 |

Yes, Jaws was shown in the Philippines on December of 1975 I was in grade 5 at that time But until now, I'm afraid to swim alone at the unfathomable portion of the beach I need company to overcome my imagination of Jaws Comment from : @christophervicentillo1793 |
In awe at how Spielberg was able to mke a movie that became the first big blockbuster he must have been so proud Comment from : @Breondan |
Jaws probably didn't contribute to a shark population decline - that distinction would likely go to Chinese fisherman slaughtering them for their shark fin soup Comment from : @Magneticlaw |
Quint is my favorite character Comment from : @lisashiveley1305 |
I saw Jaws in the theatre when it first ame out and to this day I have not gone swimming in the ocean I live in Australia and sharks are a big part of our summers particulaly the White Pointer so I didn’t go into water very much anyway but stopped altogether since Jaws was releaced and keep my swimming strickly to pools A fantastic movie I still enjoy watching even though it scared me as much as it did Comment from : @nettesco |

I'm absolutely stunned you didn't mention the original way quint met his end He was supposed to become entangled by a harpoon line, with the end result of him drowning A stuntman was going to be used in the violent climatic scene for Robert Shaw, as Quint is killed by the Shark If you look closely during this scene, you can clearly see Robert Shaw's body is wrapped in a thick protective vest And the biggest blooper is, in one scene, you can see a pillow Robert was lying on beneath him One more interesting fact about Robert Shaw's death scene Just as Susan Backline look of fear when she was first tugged under by the cable, When the mechanical shark chumpped down on Robert, that grunt he let out, and the surprised look in his eyes were genuine In an interview, he talks about the hydrologics and the pressure that mechanical shark produced He went on to say also that the water temperature was very cold, due to the fact of the problems with the mechanical shark, and shooting the movie took longer than expected Comment from : @ellexking9136 |
That slap was more of a punch - the sound! As many times as I’ve seen it I never saw the rank in the mouth in the spear scene! brAnother fact is after missing it many times as the credits roll you can see Brody and Hooper reach land Very subtle Comment from : @cc_1983 |
My all time favorite movie Comment from : @stnwrd |
Fantastic facts!! Love this movie, still scares me!!! Comment from : @lisalisa948 |
This movie was always my favorite scary movie when I was a kid Video ruined it for me My older cousin ran the scene with Quint being eaten in slow motion and I could actually see the rubber teeth bending and not actually sinking into him Much like you can actually see the wrench taped to Michael Myers hand in Halloween when he breaks the car window to go after the nurse, as well as being able to see the knife totally miss Lori Strode when he cuts her arm Never watch a movie you love in slow motion It completely ruins it, lol Old ones anyway, before they had CG Comment from : @katrinamillings3651 |
3 weeks ago I saw this film at the IMAX theater for only 3 dollars It was a wild ride considering I've seen it dozens of times before Comment from : @worldofhunter1636 |

We 1st attempted to view JAWS at a Galveston mall after visiting Sea Arama Marineworld, but JAWS was sold out in July 1975 when I was 12! After summer vacation visiting Houston, Dallas/Ft Worth/Arlington, Austin, San Antonio & Laredo, we attempted to view JAWS for a 2nd, 3rd & 4rth time, but it was so popular that it was still sold out! We didn't get to view JAWS until back home in Corpus Christi about late September or early October 1975 finally at the Cine 4 theater which doesn't exist anymore I remember sneaking in my blue take & tape Panasonic tape recorder to tape record the whole movie This manner I could listen to it anytime afterward including my friends My now late parents & I "digged" JAWS so much that we viewed it again in early 1976 when I was 13! We even used to wear JAWS t-shirts I would have liked to have heard songs Beach Baby by 1st class & When Will I See You Again by The 3 Degrees from 1974 in JAWS Comment from : @davidchriscastillo2499 |

"Jaws" is my all-time favorite movie Plus, I enjoyed this Facts Verse episode However, there are two other important facts that were not mentioned here: 1 Steven Spielberg was not Universal's first choice for the movie Initially, they hired Dick Richards to direct it But, he kept referring the menacing sea creature as the "WHALE" Therefore, he was fired 2 Robert Shaw and Richard Dreyfuss constantly clashed during the making of the movie, which supposedly added credibility to the tensions between their two characters, Matt Hooper and Quint Anyway, I still found this Facts Verse episode informative and entertaining Carry on Comment from : @scottbrowning4553 |

Hopper was going to die in the movie but they changed there minds when the shark was thrashing on the cage at 12:04 it was a real shark the size of the shark was 15ft and it was a 4ft cage and a 3ft stunt man in the cage Comment from : @JohnDoe-dh4fi |
That head scene isn’t as scary without the music in the film Comment from : @realgamerguyvlog32 |
You're wrong about the film's rating It was released with an R rating, but its success prompted an edited version that was PG I wasn't allowed to see it until that happened Comment from : @jbrien |

I have mixed feelings This is a classic horror movie, l liked it a lot and I love being scared ! It's still why I sometimes get nervous even just in a pool, when I'm in the deep end anyway! How dumb is that for an adult to be afraid that there may be a shark in a pool ! On the other hand, that this movie demonized and encouraged the abuse and slaughter of these majestic animals who actually RARELY attack humans, is tragic and disturbing It's just too bad that this was the price to pay for being well entertained, and it makes me think that the price was too high ! And yet, I can't help but be mesmerized by this movie Comment from : @PatriciaMoreno-ff8pr |

Real life shark fisherman Frank Mundus was the inspiration for CaptQuintbrAnd Aminty was based on Mountauck,Long island Comment from : @dawg065 |
They laugh at the end out of relief and amazement that they survived As for quint, why would their happiness over surviving not override any sadness for Quint, especially since it was 100 percent quints fault that they almost died He destroyed the radio He blew out the engine He was a psycho idiot that almost killed them all My elation over not getting eaten by a shark would certainly override any sadness about Quint dying, especially if I had watched the way he died Quint was essentially on a do-or-die mission and dragged Brody and Hooper along with him in that regard Comment from : @Fentman1926 |
No matter how many times I watch Jaws, it still gives me the chills about going into the water, but I love it Steven Spielberg is a genius Comment from : @raymondmatias4441 |
I am surprised you did not mention that most of the POV shots in the first attack were lifted shot for shot from a 50s classic Creature From The Black Lagoon Spielberg himself went to great pains at the time to explain that Comment from : @glenchapman3899 |
You didn't even add the fact that the reason Hooper didn't die was because while filming the underwater cage, a real great white got stuck in it and was seen thrashing to get loose before they could put the Hooper prop dummy into the cage The thrashing with a real shark was so good, they decided to include it and have Hooper escape Comment from : @Pirelli913 |
The fake shark was called, Bruce?! Haha So, Finding Nemo took that name for their shark! I see what they did there! Lol 🤔🤣😂 Comment from : @blueeyedscorpio7 |
