I used to sale on eBay back in my first few years of high school, just a few items here and there usually, but stopped due to time and being too busy I’ve been wanting to get back into it and am having to relearn a lot I joined a Facebook group for eBay tips and all they ever seem to post is how they are dealing with a scammer or believe they might be getting scammed with people switching products or photoshopping their items to look damaged on arrival It’s been making me think maybe I need to invest in all these extra protections like a blue light pen to mark the product or special tags for clothes when really that shouldn’t be my main concern as it’s not likely to happen that often, especially with the lower amount of product I’d likely be moving So all that to say thank you for reminding me of this fact once more!

I was scammed twice in the first 3 months of re-selling on eBay Why does ebay not hold refunds until there’s a tracking number on a returned item? I did not offer returns but eBay let them file anyway (not sure how that works) but the buyer got their $75 refund and refuses to return my item What do you do about that?

Question about back drops Instead of using a light box or poster board, what about using a natural setting backdrop Such as oven mitts taking a picture in a kitchen, or tools in a garage/workshop?

My big mistake was when I started my selling on eBay I listened an advise from a you a youtuber To buy bulk and chip items The opportunity came from goodwill store to buy 6 gaylord of clothes and cds and books for 300$ After three years of paying storage fees I donate all them again to Goodwill Costly experience Thanks for your good advice

I'm glad I watched this video So far it looks like I have passed all of what you have said The one thing that I didn't was the inventory because I have never seen the inventory sku field that you mentioned But in the comments someone mentioned that if you don't have an ebay store subscription it will not show up But they did also mention in their comment of what they do and I thought that was an excellent idea I have sold things in the past but it has been many years ago and I am trying to get back into it So far so good I am not quite sure I will get to the 100 listings or more ( right now that seems overwelming because I also work full time ) who knows though Maybe after a while I can work up to that I also have to practice with the boxing of things I am very careful with protecting the items but my problem is I can't understand how some people can list their items without boxing them up first So far I have been taking many pictures, giving truthful descriptions and so forth but before I list it I box it securly tape it shut mark the box weigh it and take dimensions After it is sold I look at the box for what is inside So I make sure I have the description on the box I guess what I am saying is I don't feel comfortable enough packeging it up after it has been sold

You know, I have never sold anything on eBay specifically because of my fear of being ripped off like your game-cartridge story To learn the truth about the statistics was eye-opening I have some things that match recently sold items in the range of two to three hundred dollar range, and seems to be highly desired But What recourse do I have if they "game-cartridge" me I hate confrontation That section alone was worth the entire video

Thank you for your suggestions I know i have great things to sell, will use key words and price well The thing that has prevented me from getting started is organizing a shelf system (which i am setting up) AND shipping knowledge How do i go about getting nice boxes and packing economically? Do you charge a handling fee to cover the cost of the box, packing, printed shipping label, the time it takes to box it up, and time & gas delivering to the shipping center? ie $900/ shipping and handling yet shipping was 495

My main problem starting a business on ebay is the selling fees and label cost For some reason, eBay doesn't send me a label to print, but I have to buy it, and this eats whatever little profit I had I had any tips for this ?brbrEven 15$ dollar item ebay takes 5$ and the label cost 6$ is just bad

Such a wealth of information Tip number 10 is so important, if not the most important It is my first week as a reseller and while I have made three sales, I have had to already take a step back and rethink pricing my items, taking into account the new seller status with no reviews that is inevitable to any new seller When I adjusted my pricing, that is when I started making sales I think it's important to understand going into this, as a new seller, sales are important to get feedback That's the goal for me these first 30 days Put yourself into the shoes of a buyer I wouldn't risk 125 bucks but I would 25 I'm holding off on my more spendy items until I get the traction Again, great advice and thank you!

I started selling on eBay in 1999 and I was selling only one thing, the same size I make clothes and I hit the market and I was selling 1000s of items every day One size One color the Borat thong I was selling in all the world It was crazy and last 2 or 3 years I just listed one item all the time in my store Only one I miss the old days of Ebay My problem is I don't speak and write English very well I'm from Mexico living in Texas but I try it and I hit it My glory days selling borats 1000s every single day Before when you sell something on ebay pop up a small window in your computer I always have full of small windows my computer Now is very easy make description with AI but before that doesn't exist

To add to the "don't buy too much equipment, too early" statement: You can make your own light box with an old cardboard box, and a old/used (but not stained) white, blue ,green, etc) cloth of some sort, and some sort of el cheapo light! A lot of this stuff, you can make with things you already have, rather than buy new stuff!
